This morning Hodges Towing responded to a wreck on Alexander Love Hwy. We are thankful for the quick response and teamwork from the City of York Police Department and the York Fire Department. Their help and professionalism made it possible for us to work together efficiently and get the roadway cleared and Alexander Love Hwy reopened as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate the partnership with our local first responders who work hard every day to keep our community safe. 🚓🚒

We just wrapped up recovering several stuck vehicles on Lawrence Rd in Clover, and while main roads are mostly clear, many secondary roads are still a solid sheet of ice.

Please don’t let clear highways fool you. Side roads can turn dangerous fast.

⚠️ Important reminder:
If you come up on a tow truck positioned across the roadway, do NOT drive around it just because no one is standing there to stop you. That truck is there for a reason and is a strong indication the road is closed due to unsafe conditions.

After the large amount of snow our area received yesterday, roadways are still coated in packed snow and ice in many places. This isn’t our normal “here today, gone tomorrow” weather. Even main roads are still pure ice in spots.

This photo shows our team recovering a tractor trailer that lost the roadway during yesterday’s storm. We’re doing everything we can to safely help those who need us, but conditions remain extremely dangerous.

If you don’t absolutely have to be out, please stay home and give crews time to treat the roads. Your safety and ours depend on it.

❄️ Winter Storm: The Sequel ❄️

Here we go again. Snow, ice, and slick roads are back for round two. Our heavy wrecker is ready for the conditions with tracks on and crews standing by to help our customers as safely as possible. (JK on the tracks of course that’s AI)

That said, no tow truck defies physics. If you do not have to be on the road, the best option for many is to stay home and wait it out until conditions improve. Your safety and ours comes first.

If you do find yourself in a bind, we will do our best to get to you when it is safe to do so. Stay warm, stay smart, and stay off the roads if you can. ❄️

We are closely monitoring the weather as forecasts show our area is likely to be impacted by a severe ice storm.

As always, we will do everything we can to safely assist our customers. However, it’s important to understand that tow trucks do not travel on ice any better than your vehicle. With the amount of ice currently predicted, road conditions may become extremely dangerous and travel could be nearly impossible.

🚫 If at all possible, please stay home and do not travel until conditions improve and it is safe to do so. Your safety and the safety of our drivers and first responders comes first.

🙏 We are praying for our community during this winter storm, and especially for the emergency personnel and linemen who will answer the call if power is lost and emergencies arise.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and continue to monitor local weather updates.
