SPONSORS NEEDED for Terra Riley this upcoming 2023 racing season. Terra is a fifth grader at Eastside Elementary . She began dirt track kart racing two years ago, at the age of eight and has worked her way from the ground up. She placed third in the State Championships this year which is a huge accomplishment being there are only four girls in the state in her age group. Terra shows no fear and has overcome many obstacles over the past few years. She was intentionally pushed into the wall during a race by another driver going over 60mph and still finished the race placing second with a bent rim and a busted fiberglass body. Luckily she sustained no serious injuries due to her protective gear. I expected her to be sore the next few days and not want to clean or maintain her kart to prepare for the next race. You can imagine my surprise when her father and I awoke to her at our bedside the next morning asking “were we going to sleep all day or get up and get ready for the next race, we had work to do..?”
Her drive and dedication continues to amaze me, her current sponsors, track officials and other young racers who already look up to her. Last year the same thing happened to a younger boy in the group below her and she stopped him from quitting. She told him “if you let fear define you and hold you back, you will never get what you want in life. You keep going and you can do anything.” This year that five year old took First place in the Championships for his age group. Terra takes racing seriously, not only is it her outlet for her stress from school (bullying, fighting with siblings, normal adolescent challenges) but she has dreams of becoming the next Danica Patrick or Hailee Degan. She wants to continue to race and save her winnings to pay for College. Currently she races the smaller tracks across the state but with the help of sponsors we can get her prepared for bigger races where she can travel more and gain more experience to achieve these goals. The track officials call her “Dale Jr” because she refuses to use the brake pedal. She will tell you she knows where it’s located but there is no point in using it.
Terra races at Carson Speedway in Prentiss, MS, we have raced at Jackson Motor Kart Speedway in Byram, MS. We plan to run this season at Bo Breeze Speedway in Carthage, MS along with Mojave Speedway in Louisiana and Deep South Speedway in Richton, MS. Terra is a member of Blacksheep Motorsports, and is considered a “youth” racer on their team. This team was founded by Matthew Ebarb and Anthony Sunde who have raced for over 16 years nationwide winning many national championships including not only karts but stock cars in Tulsa,OK and the O’reily Indoor Nationals held in Batesville,MS each year. Terra has them on her side and looks to them for guidance and inspiration.
Racing has allowed her to truly open up and develop skills needed for growth along the way. Socially and physically. It also allows us as a family to spend time and create memories on and off the track. Being a sponsor not only builds her confidence but it's a bonus for you as well. Whether you donate monetarily or by helping with parts, safety gear etc. We put your logo on our kart, suit and racing trailer as free advertisement for you as we travel. Since it is a donation it's also a tax write off for you. Monetary donations help us so much with fuel, entry fees, maintenance on the karts etc but anything helps. Right now she has three amazing sponsors who are local and do what they can but we need help as our team is growing. If you would like to sponsor or even come watch her at one of the local tracks before making a decision please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I have also created a page where we pin all sponsor's business pages to the top and we stream live footage from the races and update on her accomplishments.
