Quite a weekend at Watkins Glens! Once again, we had burn survivors and family come from the Rochester region affiliated with to enjoy some rides in racecars. About a dozen brave souls came out despite constant rain and temps in the 40s and made the most of the day. Once again my family ran a raffle with all of the proceeds to support FLRBA and their mission to send burn survivors to Camp Courage, where they receive support and tools to over come their own life changing traumas. The raffle raised $3000, and in an incredible show of generosity, that number was matched by an anonymous racer, raising the total to $6000. The support from the NASA family never ceases to amaze me. I truly thank you all for your support over the years.
Also managed to win TT3 on both days, with a fast lap of 2:01.7 on Sunday on the new RE71RZ. I had a 2:01.1 rolling lap and I wish that was the one I put on the board, but at least I know the car has it in it. Really wish I brought a really fast tire just to get under 2:00, but next time I suppose.
