We've been busy here in Gettysburg working a rally. Since my helper headed north to stack sugar beets, I've been training the new replacement. Brock is putting in some hours and getting his hands dirty. I am beyond proud of him as a dad, to see him push past his comfort zone. I also get a chuckle everytime someone asks him if he is going to follow in my footsteps, and he says no...lol. He has his heart set on being a pilot and this helps him earn money for flight time, and I want him to follow his dreams.

Today we knocked out a triple axle and a tandem axle Roadmaster Comfort ride slipperspring double. Also a repack and tandem standard spring replacement.

What is the saying… “If I had a dollar for every time…”

This axle cup is probably one of my most asked about tools! Everybody wants to know all about it, and really, it’s just a simple little tool that I add onto my bottle jacks to make them even more of a work horse. Just about every single job we work on requires bottle jacks, and the axle cups make the job safer.

Hershey RV Show is officially closed and in the books for 2026! I very much enjoyed meeting and talking with everyone. Seeing several great friends and past customers as well as hanging out with Jeff (and family) Mark, and Kylie from Roadmaster Inc.. It was also great to spend sometime with Troy Teague from Deemaxx Components.

Tech Tool Tuesday!
I wanted to show you one of the tools I actually keep in the bag when I’m doing electrical work in an RV. This is the Weller Portasol butane soldering iron. I use it for heat shrink on connections, and if I need to solder I just put the tip back on and it works as a regular iron again.

No cord, which makes a big difference when you’re squeezed into a generator bay, an underbelly pass through, or working under a rig. I talk through how I use it in the video.
