What’s going on guys? Hope everyone had a great weekend. Haven’t posted in awhile due to being super slammed here at benson built, but would like to show one I finished up about a week ago.
This car was dropped off at a VERY well known srt4 shop in NC due to it having issues getting stuck in gear when hot. The car was tore apart immediately with a new act clutch kit thrown at it.
Upon pickup of this car, customer was having the same issues about 20 minutes up the street. So I had him tow the car to me.
After spending over 2000$ at another shop from misdiagnosis, and 100$s in tow bills the car arrived at my shop.
Upon arrival as soon as I fired the car up I could hear abnormal noise coming from the gearset, so I drained the fluid to find a lot of metal shavings and plastic pieces from a bad needle bearing.
The 5th gear needle bearing had gone bad and 5th gear had locked itself to the output shaft, car also had a 3rd gear grind.
Upon tear down, 5th gear output and input gears were bad, 3/4 synchronizer was worn out along with the 3/4 fork, and the 3rd gear engagement teeth were rounded off, output shaft bearing surface was gouged and scarred really bad.
Replaced all parts and car is back on the road. Listen guys, DONT HESITATE TO BRING YOUR CAR TO ME.
