Rustic Revival Street Rods Working on old vehicles, displaying my artwork and sharing the history of Clay Center, KS. And showing the progress I am making as I work on the vehicles.

After working for a living all my life, I am now retired and have the time to work on old cars which has always been a dream of mine. I have several vehicles I am working on for myself. I am not an expert by any means but I try to create cars and trucks that make me happy and are not a pile of junk. I have some amazing friends who I love to have stop by and just talk old cars, the weather, or whatever. This is my hobby and I like to share my adventure with others.

In 1943, Ken Fuhrman started his Model A bodied roadster built on a Deuce chassis. This photo was taken in the late ‘40s at a Napa area track with Fuhrman’s finished product. Fuhrman showed the car at the first Oakland Roadster show in 1950. The car featured a plexiglass hood and chromed chassis. This photo was used at the Oakland Museum of California in "The Men and Machines of California’s Car Culture" Show that ran from September 21, 1996 to January 5, 1997.

Kansan William Bert Hart, a well-known semi-professional baseball player, played for several teams 100 years ago. He played for teams in Green, Clay Center, Westmoreland, and Beloit, where they claimed the “independent state championship of Kansas” in 1920. For most of Hart’s work career he worked at the post office in Westmoreland and later operated a hotel and restaurant there with his wife Margaret in the 1940s.
