“JP, I’M NOT REALLY THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO TAKES PICTURES… BUT FOR YOU, I WILL.”
I want you all to read that one more time.
Because those few words from my customer touched my heart more than she could possibly imagine.
And by the time you finish reading this story, I hope you’ll understand why.
This isn’t just another car sale. This is a story about trust, honesty, patience, and what happens when you put people before profits.
Let me tell you what happened.
A wonderful couple came to see me at the Dealership.
They weren’t looking to purchase a brand-new vehicle.
In fact, they came with something completely different in mind.
They were shopping for a pre-owned vehicle.
They wanted to explore their options, compare vehicles, and find something that made sense financially.
And I completely understood.
So we started doing exactly that.
We walked the lot.
We looked at different vehicles.
We discussed what they liked, what they didn’t like, and what they were hoping to accomplish.
I listened.
I asked questions.
And as we continued looking at the different options, I started thinking about something.
What if the best deal for them wasn’t actually a used car?
Now, I know what some of you are probably thinking.
“JP, how could a brand-new vehicle possibly make more financial sense than a pre-owned one?”
Great question!
And this is exactly why I always encourage my customers to look beyond the sticker price.
Because when you’re financing a vehicle, there’s a much bigger picture to consider.
You have to look at the interest rate.
You have to look at the available manufacturer incentives.
You have to look at customer cash and rebates.
You have to look at the amount being financed.
And, of course, you have to look at the monthly payment.
Sometimes, depending on how everything comes together, a brand-new vehicle can end up with a monthly payment surprisingly close to that of a pre-owned vehicle.
Not always.
Not for everybody.
But sometimes!
And when that happens, I believe my customers deserve to know about it.
So I shared that perspective with them.
Not because I wanted to push them into something more expensive.
Not because I wanted to change their minds.
But because my job is to educate my customers so they can make the best decision for themselves.
And that’s when things started getting interesting.
We continued exploring their options.
She test-drove a 2025 Mazda CX-5.
She even test-drove a BMW, with some encouragement from her wonderful husband!
And I loved that!
Because I wanted her to experience different vehicles and decide what SHE genuinely loved.
But there was one more vehicle I wanted her to experience.
The brand-new 2026 Mazda CX-5.
Now, if you’ve been following my page, you already know how much I appreciate Mazda vehicles.
The quality.
The design.
The driving experience.
The attention to detail.
And the value they offer.
So I recommended that she take the 2026 CX-5 for a drive.
And guess what happened?
She fell in love with it!!!
Yes!!!
After exploring different options, including pre-owned vehicles, a 2025 Mazda CX-5, and even a BMW…
The vehicle that captured her heart was the beautiful 2026 Mazda CX-5!
And let me tell you something.
Seeing a customer discover a vehicle they genuinely love is one of my favorite parts of this business.
But here’s where the story takes another turn.
Falling in love with a vehicle is one thing. Making the numbers work is another.
And I knew we still had work to do.
Because this wonderful couple had a specific monthly payment in mind.
They knew where they wanted to be financially.
And they weren’t going to make a decision simply because they loved the car.
They wanted the numbers to make sense.
And I respected that.
So we started working on the financing.
We submitted everything.
We reviewed the numbers.
We negotiated.
And negotiated some more.
But this wasn’t one of those situations where everything came together immediately.
We did not get the deal done that Friday.
The numbers weren’t quite where they wanted them to be.
And rather than pressure them into making a decision they weren’t comfortable with, I respected their position.
They went home that evening.
No pressure.
No uncomfortable sales tactics.
No trying to make them feel guilty for wanting to think things through.
Just an understanding that we would continue working toward something that made sense.
Now, here’s something I want everyone reading this to understand.
A customer should never have to feel pressured into making one of the biggest financial decisions of their life.
Buying a vehicle is a major commitment.
And I believe you deserve to feel comfortable, informed, and respected throughout the entire process.
So Friday came to an end.
But the story wasn’t over.
Saturday morning… my phone rang.
It was her husband!
He was calling to check on the progress.
He wanted to know whether we had made any headway with the negotiations and the numbers.
And I was happy to continue the conversation.
We reviewed the updated figures.
We discussed where things stood.
And after working through everything…
We finally reached numbers they were comfortable with!!!
Now we were talking!
The couple made their way back to the dealership.
And this time, things were different.
Because now, the vehicle she had fallen in love with was about to become HER vehicle.
I got everything ready.
We completed the paperwork.
And before long…
She was the proud owner of a brand-spanking-new 2026 Mazda CX-5!!!
Look at that beautiful vehicle!
Look at that smile!
From shopping for a pre-owned vehicle on Friday…
To driving home in a brand-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 on Saturday!
What a beautiful outcome!
But here’s the part of this story that means even more to me than the vehicle itself.
During our time together, this couple shared something that really stayed with me.
They had already visited another dealership.
And unfortunately, their experience there had left them uncomfortable enough that they decided not to move forward with a purchase.
Now, I’m not here to criticize another dealership or another salesperson.
That’s not what this story is about.
But what they told me afterward meant a great deal.
They expressed how much they appreciated the way I treated them.
The honesty.
The transparency.
The patience.
The willingness to listen.
And most importantly…
The fact that they never felt pressured.
They appreciated that I genuinely wanted to help them find the right vehicle rather than simply sell them something.
And hearing that touched my heart.
Because here’s something I believe with everything in me.
People may forget the numbers you discussed. They may forget some of the vehicles they test-drove. But they will remember how you made them feel.
They’ll remember whether you listened.
They’ll remember whether you respected their budget.
They’ll remember whether you were patient.
They’ll remember whether you treated them like a person or just another opportunity to make a sale.
And that’s the kind of experience I strive to give every customer who trusts me with their business.
But then something happened that I genuinely wasn’t expecting.
After everything was completed, it was time to take our traditional delivery pictures.
Now, if you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I love taking pictures with my customers!
Those smiles mean the world to me.
But this particular customer wasn’t really comfortable taking pictures.
And I completely understood.
Not everybody enjoys being in front of a camera.
So I wasn’t going to pressure her.
But then she said something I will remember for a very long time.
“I’m not really the kind of person who takes pictures… but for you, JP, I will.”
Wow.
I don’t think she realized what those words meant to me.
Because in that moment, I understood that what we had built over those two days was much bigger than a business transaction.
We had built trust.
And trust is something you cannot buy.
You cannot demand it.
You cannot force it.
You have to EARN it.
Through your actions.
Through your honesty.
Through your patience.
Through the way you treat people when things aren’t going exactly as planned.
And for someone who doesn’t normally enjoy taking pictures to make that exception for me…
That was an honor.
A genuine honor.
So we took our pictures.
And when I look at them, I don’t just see a beautiful new Mazda CX-5.
I see a customer who trusted me enough to allow me to guide her through an important decision.
I see a husband who supported his wife throughout the process and wanted to make sure they made the right choice.
I see a couple who knew what they wanted financially and didn’t compromise on making a decision they were comfortable with.
And I see another reminder that doing business the right way still matters.
But wait…
There’s one more thing!
Before leaving, they told me something else that made my day.
They plan to come back and see me with another family member!
Now THAT right there is one of the greatest compliments anyone in this profession can receive.
Because when someone trusts you enough to recommend you to their own family…
That’s not just a referral.
That’s a responsibility.
And it’s one I don’t take lightly.
To this wonderful couple, if you’re reading this, I want to personally thank you.
I’m intentionally keeping your names private, but I hope you know exactly how much I appreciate you both.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to earn your business.
Thank you for allowing me to share my knowledge and recommendations.
Thank you for being patient while we worked through the numbers.
Thank you for trusting me enough to come back the following day.
And thank you for reminding me that kindness, honesty, and genuine service still make a difference.
To my wonderful customer especially…
Thank you for taking that picture with me!
You may have thought it was a small gesture.
But I promise you, it meant more to me than you know.
I pray that your beautiful 2026 Mazda CX-5 brings you many years of happiness, wonderful memories, and safe travels.
And I look forward to seeing you and your family again!
Congratulations on your beautiful new Mazda!!!
Now, to everyone reading this…
I want you to take something away from this story.
Don’t assume that the vehicle you came to look at is necessarily the best financial option for you.
Sometimes it is!
But sometimes, when you compare interest rates, rebates, incentives, financing terms, and overall value, another option may make more sense.
That’s why having someone willing to explain the numbers matters.
And please remember something else.
You should never feel pressured to purchase a vehicle.
You deserve someone who will listen.
Someone who will respect your financial goals.
Someone who will explain your options.
Someone who will be honest when something doesn’t make sense.
And someone who will work just as hard to earn your trust as they do to earn your business.
That’s what I strive to provide.
Whether you’re looking for a $10,000 pre-owned vehicle or a brand-new Mazda…
Whether you know exactly what you want or you’re still trying to figure it out…
Whether you’re ready to buy today or simply exploring your options…
You deserve to be treated with respect.
And if you give me the opportunity, I would be honored to help you find the right vehicle for YOUR situation.
Because at the end of the day…
I don’t just want to sell you a car.
I want to earn your trust, your confidence, and the opportunity to be the person you feel comfortable sending your family and friends to.
That’s what building relationships is all about.
And that’s why I love what I do.
