⚡️RV A/C Troubleshooting-Sometimes It's All In the Connections❄️

When an rooftop A/C starts humming, cutting out, running intermittently, or refusing to start, the problem isn't always the compressor or capicator.

Loose, overheated, corroded, or damaged electrical leads and plug connections can cause:
•Voltage drop
•High amp draw
•Intermittent operation
•Burned terminals or connectors
•Breaker trips
•Compressor starting problems

Today's troubleshooting in Ocala included checking A/C wiring, terminals, plugs, and connections to make sure power is getting where it needs to go.

Today we were troubleshooting a SW10 DE
10 gallon gas/electric RV water heater that wasn't heating properly on electric mode.

When an RV water heater works on propaine but not on electric, there are several things that need to be checked-including the 120V power supply, switches, thermostat, high-limit circuit, wiring connections and the electric heating element.

Electrical testing can quickly help pinpoint the problem instead of just replacing
parts and hoping for the best.

If your RV water heater is:
•Not heating on electric
•Taking too long to heat
• Working on propaine but not on electric
• Tripping the breaker
• Giving you inconsistent hot water

Your RV roof is exposed to heat and UV rays every day.
Over time that exposure can dry out roofing materials and sealants, leading to cracking, deterioration, and eventually costly water leaks.

A little preventive maintenance can help extend the life of your roof.

✅ Inspect the roof and sealant regularly
✅ Keep roof clean using approved products for your roof material
✅ Check around vents, skylights, antennas, A/C units, front cap and rear cap for cracking or loose sealant
✅ Use a manufacturer approved UV protectant or roof coating when appropriate
✅ Repair small cracks and damaged sealant before they become leaks

⚠️ Always make sure the cleaner or protectant is compatible with your specific
EDPM, TPO, PVC or fiberglass roof. Avoid petroleum based products unless the roof manufacturer specifically approves them.

A common slide-out failure we see is broken or worn teeth inside the gear pack. When those teeth start spripping, your slide may:

• Move unevenly or get stuck
• Make popping, grinding, or clicking noises
• Stop partway in or out
•Move on one side but not the other

Continuing to operate the slide can damage the gear pack, rails, motor or other slide components and turn a smaller repair into a much bigger one.
