Lettuce doesn't belong on a gyro anyway. So whatever's going on with that lettuce situation... it ain't happening here. Just gyros, lightning fries, and peace of mind. 🌯⚡😂

PR! Our incredible Pleasant Ridge Community Council has really shown up for our community, along with some excellent funding partners (we see you Urban Sites!!) to help take care of all of us during this downpour debacle.

Part of the cost share for the emergency initiative comes directly from fundraisers like Ridge Day - where all the money goes to help better our community!

See below for Community Councils message:

We are so sorry to see and hear all the terrible results from yesterday's downpour. For those of you that have been directly affected, our hearts go out to you.

We have been able to secure three 40-yard dumpsters for Pleasant Ridge residents to use. These dumpsters will be delivered to the old Burger King lot on Monday (7/20) and will remain until full -OR- until Monday the 27th.

We are extremely grateful for the thoughtfulness and efforts of our neighbor Rachel Levine, and the financial contributions from Urban Sites and Baron Group Commercial to make this happen!

PARAMETERS:

• These dumpsters are for Pleasant Ridge residents only; NO commercial dumping

• Please to not leave ANY items outside of the dumpsters

• Please do not fill the dumpsters to heaping

• PROHIBITED ITEMS (from Dumpster Daddy):
- Paints, lacquers, or adhesives
- Tires
- Batteries
- Asbestos
- Harmful chemicals
- Flammable liquids or fuels
- Oils
- Medical Waste
- Contaminated soils & absorbents
- Inks & resins
- Refrigerants
- or other environmental hazards

What better place to gather with your neighbors and commiserate about the flood than Ridge Day? (Too soon? 😭)

Check out the vendors, grab a bite to eat and a couple drinks, hang out and enjoy the music.

We hope you’re all safe and wish you the best on your cleaning efforts.

We also still have “We ❤️ Pleasant Ridge” signs available for $5 each if you think you still feel that way after all this. They survived!

What an excellent service for the young people in our community. Check out Linn Legal for your young adults!

Their next clinic is scheduled for July 25th!

Young people are graduating here in Pleasant Ridge and starting their adventures! There’s a major legal shift that most families completely overlook: Once you turn 18, your parents can no longer automatically make medical decisions for you in an emergency. Many people assume family members can just step in if an accident happens, but legally, that isn't the case.

Linn Legal is hosting two free clinics to help young people from 18-22 get free Medical Powers of Attorney in place. We love our Pleasant Ridge community and want to make sure our young adults are set up for a safe, secure future. It's a useful document to have and it's not something that young people want to think about or pay for, so we are giving them away.

If you are a parent or loved one of a young person, please gently nudge them about this (or get their clearance to fill out the form for them!).
