We at Mike Albert are excited to share that Overdrive, our proprietary fleet management platform available to all clients, now includes driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR) functionality!
Clients can now create customized reports, schedule notifications to alert drivers when reports need to be completed, and view completed reports within Overdrive. This development can bring efficiency and transparency gains to administrative team members and drivers, creating more time for both to focus on other operational tasks.

As Hurricane Nicole has Florida and the east coast in her crosshairs, our ultimate priority is making sure that our clients and their loved ones are safe. The Mike Albert team has been in contact with any clients that might be affected by Nicole’s movements, and we will continue to monitor the storm and be on standby to help however we can. The arrival of Hurricane Nicole is a timely reminder that while your company vehicles shouldn’t be your top priority when facing a natural disaster, your fleet will likely require attention soon after the danger has passed. If you find yourself in that unfortunate situation, below are five tips to help guide you safely through the days and weeks ahead.
Don’t attempt to drive through flood waters.
Floods can be deceptively deep, and six inches of water is enough to reach the bottom of most passenger cars—causing loss of control and possible stalling. If floodwaters rise around your car, abandon the vehicle and move to higher ground if you can do so safely.
Don’t drive after a vehicle has been flooded.
In a best-case scenario, you should move all of the vehicles in your fleet to higher ground before a storm approaches. If that’s not possible and water levels have risen above the tires/wheels of your vehicle(s), DO NOT start the car. Instead, have the vehicle towed to a professional for an inspection when it is safe to do so. If the engine has been exposed to water, it could lock up and become a risk to yourself and others.
Inspect for wind damage.
If your area has experienced strong winds, check carefully for windshield damage. If your vehicle has a damaged windshield, do not drive it. Before driving, replace or repair the windshield by utilizing the services of a mobile provider. Once the windshield is replaced, we recommend that you take the vehicle to a repair facility for an insurance estimate.
Find fuel fast.
During power outages and other natural disasters, many locations run out of fuel. Ahead of a storm, consider proactively topping up all vehicles in your fleet. If that’s not an option, take advantage of mobile apps that track gas availability to find the closest useable pumps after the storm has passed.
