Zakira's Garage Zakiras Garage specializes in collector and enthusiast car maintenance, repair and rejuvenation.

Our business was started to work on a private collection but over the past two decades our work has changed to primarily motorcars for regular clientele. The core of our work lies in restoration but requests for regular maintenance has developed a service side of the business as well. Our racing heritage is an important aspect of what we do, ranging from engine dynamometer testing to full motorcar development.

The last Cars 'n' Coffee of 2026 is our Fall Open House, and it's the one to plan your Saturday around.

Saturday, October 17, from 9 AM to 1 PM in the back lot at Zakira's Garage in Blue Ash. Free coffee and donuts (while they last), open shop bays and prize raffle. All makes and models are welcome, so bring whatever you're driving and bring the family. Please keep friendly pooches on a leash.

"It looks like it's just going straight up."

That's how Kurt Niemeyer describes the view from the start line at Corkscrew Hill in Zanesfield, where cars climb 390 feet of elevation in 7/10 of a mile. Kurt founded the Bellefontaine Hillclimb Revival, and this year we got him on camera telling the whole story in his own words: a 2012 road trip conversation with his friend Bill Porter, a tip from fellow racer Mike Edgerton (whose wife Nancy actually honeymooned at the original hill climb back in 1964), and seven years of logistics to bring life back to the nearly forgotten course.

Zakira's Garage has handled safety and technical inspection at Bellefontaine for years now, and it's one of our favorite days on the calendar every August. Kurt put the whole philosophy in one line: nobody's on trial here. Keep your car on the course, bring the right attitude, and go have a good time with old friends and new ones.

Immediate Porsche service openings are available at Zakira's, and older cars are what we know best.

If your later generation Porsche 911, 944, Boxster or Cayman is due for service, you don't need to wait weeks to get it in. We have room on the schedule now, and most service visits are in and out in a day or two.

What we're booking:

Oil and filter service
Minor and major interval service
Brake fluid flush
Spark plugs, filters and coolant
Pre-winter storage prep

Putting it away for the season? Fresh oil and fluids should go in before storage, not after.

Stu Morris is the curator of America's Packard Museum in Dayton, Ohio, and he's made the drive to the Bellefontaine Hill Climb Revival every year since he was first invited three years ago.

His advice for anyone on the fence: don't expect a highly regulated, buttoned-up event. It's open, friendly and welcoming to just about anything you show up in. If you're picturing a field of Miatas, that's not it. If you're picturing a field of British roadsters, that's not it either. It's both, and everything in between, from late-model cars to builds people have owned since new, going back to the 60s.

His favorite part is the community. If you're a car person looking for something fun to do on a Saturday, there's not much better than this: low key, low pressure and a good time for everyone who shows up, drivers and spectators alike.

You never know what's going to roll into the back lot at Zakira's Cars 'n' Coffee. Thank you to everyone who spent the morning with us Saturday, September 19.

Mark your calendars. Our last Cars 'n' Coffee of 2026 if the season Saturday, October 17. This one is our Fall Open House — expect full tours of the garage, excellent free raffle prizes and the best turnout of the year. It's the last one before we do it all again next May.

Tyler Johnson had his Austin-Healey Sprite's motor apart the week before the August 22, 2026 event. His runs at the Bellefontaine Hillclimb Revival 8 was the first real shakedown since it went back together. It's no ordinary Austin-Healey Sprite, a 12A rotary swap, Holley 650 Carb with the GM 3800 M90 Supercharger he added over the winter. He posted the fastest time in the British class, at 26.387 seconds.

It looks like a 1970 Datsun 1600 Roadster, and it is. But it isn't running the engine it left the factory with. It was already swapped when our master mechanic Eric Zwart found it, and that engine is the whole reason he wanted the car. It revs to 8,000 rpm and has people asking if it's a two-stroke.

Michael Kelly has been the VIP driver, the tech guy and pretty much everything else the Bellefontaine Hillclimb Revival has needed, eight years running. His read on it: relaxed, low pressure and built for actually enjoying your car, not squeezing out every last tenth.

The best part might be what happens after hours: drinks, stories and catching up with people who show up year after year. Even the town notices. The Cobblestone Hotel was 70% sold out the night before this year's event.

In his words: sitting on a fence hurts. Sitting in your car seat is a lot more comfortable. Come see us.
