The latest National Weather Service marine forecast for the Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point to Smith Point has NW winds 5–10 knots with 1 ft waves Friday, increasing Friday night to 10–15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots. Saturday is currently forecast around N 10–15 knots with 1–2 ft waves, easing Sunday to NE 5–10 knots with 1–2 ft waves.

Showers remain possible Friday, and thunderstorms are a concern in the region leading into the weekend. NWS notes that Small Craft Advisories may be needed Friday night into Saturday, and winds, waves and visibility can deteriorate quickly around thunderstorms.

Recheck immediately before departure and make the conservative call.
