A reminder for families that MCPS summer nutrition programs will be available throughout June, July, and early August. ☀️

Children 18 years old and younger can receive free breakfast and lunch at select school locations, and SUN Meal Kits will be available weekly at Shawsville Middle School, Belview Elementary School, and Belmont Christian Church beginning in late June.

Families, students, and community members are invited to join us in celebrating the incredible success of the Blacksburg High School Scholastic Bowl Team and cheering them on during the final game of the 2026 Battle of the Brains Tournament! 🧠

The entire upstairs of Blacksburg Macado's has been reserved for this special celebration on Sunday, May 31. Gathering begins at 11:00am, with the WDBJ broadcast starting at 11:30am.

After the winningest season in BHS Scholastic Bowl history, our 2026 State Champions deserve a memorable send-off. We hope to see you there as we celebrate this outstanding team! 🎉

We have our three finalists for the Growing the Future Car Giveaway! We sold 117,512 tickets, which is $117,512 that our local public schools in the counties of Montgomery, Giles, Floyd, Wythe, Craig, Pulaski and Radford City earned to pay for equipment, uniforms, supplies, field trips, and so much more! This is the only fundraiser you will see that allows the schools to keep 100% of the proceeds for things that are needed for their school and students.

Our three finalists will be at Calfee Park ⚾️on June 6th and our winner will be drawn live during the game! Stay tuned to see who our lucky winner of a brand new car will be! 🚗
