The Iron Mining Association (IMA) of Minnesota promotes a healthy iron ore industry that will continue to benefit Northeastern Minnesota as well as the entire state. The association is supported by Minnesota's iron mining operations, supplier businesses within the industry, and businesses and individuals who do not work directly in the industry but want to show their support for this vital Minnesota industry.

“Holy moly!” is the most common phrase we hear as people walk up to our booth at the MN State Fair. It’s fitting, considering we have a 160,000+ pound dipper on display!

Huge thanks to Tracy, Jim, Todd, John, Shannon, Paulette, Peter, Ted, Jay and Fred from Komatsu; Arik from MN Power; and Scott from JADCO for being at the booth earlier this week, sharing their experiences, and making sure visitors enjoyed a piece of iron mining!

Big news! The IMA submitted U.S. Steel’s Taconite Pellets for the Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota contest and we are one of the top 64 contenders! 🏆

Taconite pellets earned their spot for the breakthrough process that turned tough Iron Range rock into a material essential to modern manufacturing—a nod to the grit and engineering behind Minnesota's iron mining industry.

From the beams that frame our schools to the lockers, bleachers, and buses that fill them, Minnesota iron is woven into the places where our kids learn and grow. 🎒🚌

But the connection runs even deeper—revenue from mining on state school trust lands flows into Minnesota's Permanent School Fund, supporting students in every public school across the state.

Mining builds the classroom and supports the spaces and educational opportunities that foster our children's learning.

The IMA is proud to feature Road Machinery & Supplies Co. and their RMS Tritec division, a trusted partner in keeping Minnesota's mining equipment running in some of the harshest working environments imaginable.

RMS Tritec provides custom steel fabrication, machining, welding, and heavy equipment repair for the mining and industrial sectors. From rebuilding critical components to installing wear-resistant materials, their work helps mining customers maximize uptime and stay productive.

We had a “hole” lot of fun at the 34th Annual IMA Member Golf Outing on Monday! ⛳ Along with hundreds of our members, we took over Giants Ride for a beautiful day on the Legend and Quarry courses—great golf, great food, and even better company.

Thank you to everyone who came out, to our sponsors for their support, and to everyone who helped make this event happen. We're already looking forward to next year. 🏌️🏌️‍♀️
