“Shark fishing, golf, great food… and a police es**rt? Charleston had it all.”
We made it all the way from SoCal to Charleston… only to get pulled over three blocks from our destination. Sergeant Barattini didn’t give me a ticket, instead he gave me a lesson, quickly became my Instagram buddy, and somehow ended up part of our trip story.
That’s kind of how the week went — shark fishing, three golf courses for the boys, great restaurants, a towed car, and a dozen little surprises along the way. My favorite? Watching the kids play cards on the back deck our first night, ocean just off in the distance.
With Alex wrapping up a whirlwind summer coaching all over the country again, and Lexi about to start her nursing career on Monday, this trip was a gift. Just time together — laughing, exploring, and remembering how much we love hanging out as a family.
