THREE IN A ROW!! It’s another P1 for us in Club 2WD🏆🔥
Before you ask, APR Performance Inc. is now supporting us and supplying parts for us, so we are not racing only for ourselves anymore. Thing’s getting serious!
Being one of the most distant track from home for us, we’ve decided to arrive the day before and we stayed at a decent airbnb just next to the track.
Despite not being there irl, I actually won my first sim race in Brands Hatch GP in 2021. It was a P1 for that race, but I expected it would not be the same for me this time, as Club 2WD is always the most fiercely contested class in Time Attack UK .
I expected i’d need some seat time to find the braking points and lines, so we decided to continue using the same set of tyres from Round 1, which has roughly 8 heat cycles.
Warm up session. The car felt much more powerful than last round. I believe 18c ambient temp helped a lot compared to last round’s 33c. Hood vent from Ridgeline Motorsport and cold air intake from DivineDrive.co helped to cool the engine as well. Car felt much more tail happy this session, at this point i just thought I’ll treat it as a track day if tyres lack grip.
Attack 1, we started to push harder as I started to feel comfortable for the track. Tyres felt good, we set a 51.310 and that put us at P1, but I knew there was more in the car.
Attack 2, I experienced fuel starvation for the first time in this car. There were 5 out of 7 bars in the fuel gauge, but the factory fuel pump design just couldn’t cope with the sustaining high G at the exit of clearway. I set a 51.074 before having the issue, Luke did a lap with just 0.025 quicker, and that put us at P2 in this session.
Super attack. Ambient temp was cooler by quite a bit. Knowing Neil would be quick as he had put on new tyres for the session, and Luke would also try to break into the 50s. Who would be the fastest was the question.
Managed to set a 50.985 and that put us in P1🔥
Thank you for your support. Next one up would be our home turf Oulton Park. Aim is to set a new class record there, as the car was set up for that track.
We’ll see you in a bit!
