Hey fellow truckers! We here at North State get a lot of unnecessary repairs As temperatures start dropping and continue staying low, it's crucial to give your truck some extra TLC to keep it running smoothly through the winter months. We realize that some truckers may not know these simple tips to avoid costly repairs, Here are three key tips from the mechanics here at North State Street Management:

1️⃣ Keep Your Fuel System in Check: Cold weather can cause diesel fuel to gel up, leading to engine stalling and poor performance. To prevent this, make sure to use winter-grade diesel fuel and add a high-quality anti-gel additive to your tank. Also, regularly drain any water from your fuel filters to avoid freezing.

2️⃣ Maintain Proper Tire Pressure: Cold weather can cause tire pressure to drop, which not only affects fuel efficiency but also traction and overall handling. Make sure to Keep a close eye on your tire pressure and make adjustments as needed, ensuring they're inflated to the manufacturer's recommended levels. Don't forget to check your tire tread depth too, as good traction is essential for navigating icy roads safely.
