This Saturday’s scheduled race at Atomic Speedway has been canceled due to storm damage from this past week. Our next race will be next Saturday, August 29 at Florence Speedway.

It’s time for another Allstar Performance Turnback Tuesday - dial it back 25 years ago for this one - the old covered grandstand at Lawrenceburg Speedway . Yeah, it was rough, but it was packed with people and the pit area was packed with race cars on that bullring quarter mile. Times change, but not always for the better.

On a side note, the BOSS series is now searching for a title sponsor for 2027. If you are looking for a smaller way to get involved, this weekly feature may be open and we also need heat race sponsors if we are to maintain our current program. Please share!

Many of you know about my side project. I don’t usually post stuff to our racing pages, but definitely making an exception here - we still miss Chuck Wilson!

50 years ago today, the AMRA midgets raced at the Marion County Fairgrounds on the half mile horse track. Chuck Wilson, in the Harry Horne VW, won the 20 lap feature over Boots Ruhland and Mike Brill. In the lower right corner, you see the same series went to the Ross County Fairgrounds in Chillicothe 2 nights later where Denny Lott won over Bill Humphreys and Mike Brill. Chuck Wilson finished out his career with my Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series. Now, his son Chad, races regularly with me.

It's Allstar Performance Turnback Tuesday - a throwback 10 years ago, when the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series took big fields to every track like, here at Millstream Speedway in 2016. That's Chad Wilson in the 14, leading Tyler Courtney in the 5. Derek Hastings and Luke Hall are giving chase in the background. Courtney would go on to win the feature on this night. Sadly, our only date offered at Millstream this year fell victim to rain. Rick Lane with the photo credit.
