Your seatbelt looks fine. But after a collision, looks can be very deceiving.
Seatbelt pretensioners are single-use devices. During a moderate to severe collision they fire automatically, locking the belt tight against your body to reduce injury. Once that happens, the pretensioner is spent — even if the belt itself appears completely normal from the outside. There's no visible sign that it's no longer functional. It just won't work the next time you need it to.
Driving around with a fired pretensioner means you're buckled in but not actually protected the way you think you are. And that goes for every passenger seat in the vehicle, not just the driver's.
This is exactly the kind of thing that gets missed when a repair is rushed or done by a shop that isn't checking everything it should be.
We check everything. Every time. Because everyone in that car matters — including the ones riding in the back.
