Austin Wood and Jason Clayton Win at Chico
CHICO, Calif. May 23, 2026 – Austin Wood picked up his second win of the season at Silver Dollar Speedway by capturing the 25-lap winged 360 sprint car main event. Wood earned his first win on March 7th at the Silver Cup. Tonight, Wood took the lead away from Shane Golobic on lap 10. A solid turnout of 32-winged 360 sprint cars came to race during the Saturday night fair spectacular.
Golobic led the race from the start. Golobic found trouble on lap 15 when he drifted off the edge of the racetrack. Golobic never stopped, kept going, and remerged back on the track in the eighth spot. Andy Forsberg was able to move into the second spot after Golobic slid off the track. Once Forsberg was in second, he tried his best to close in on Wood.
Behind the top two were Landon Henry and Tanner Carrick. These two drivers put on a back-and-forth clinic that thrilled the enthusiastic fair crowd. On the final lap, Carrick passed Henry for third place. On the final lap Golobic passed Chance Grasty for fifth place. Landon Brooks charged from 17th to eighth. Ryan Bernal slipped into seventh at the finish line.
