Rental Guys Hobby Stocks Take Center Stage This Friday

CHICO, Calif., July 14, 2026…The Rental Guys Hobby Stock point championship battle continues to be a focal point for the Silver Dollar Speedway fans. Up to this point, 30 different drivers have attempted at least one start this season. The excitement on track makes this division a fan favorite. As the popularity rises for Rental Guy Hobby Stocks, so do the stakes. Tensions will be at an all-time high for this Friday night, July 17, as the Rental Guy Hobby Stocks race as part of the tribute to Chuck and Tyler Wolf.

A former track champion sits atop the point standings. The 2022 track champion Zach Lindgren has accumulated 162 points over the previous four races. He holds a slim eight-point lead over Jason Clayton and Toby Merrifield. But Clayton is the only driver in this top three to score a main event win. Sitting fourth, also with one win, is Jacob Bright. He has been a bright spot this season at Chico. Brian Cooper, who dominated the past few years, rounds out the top five.

Local drivers including Robert Warf and Jared Flower from Chico hold down the sixth and seventh spot. Jeff Hill from nearby Paradise is currently in eighth place. Dan Webster of Glenn and David Larabee from Gridley round out the top ten.
Rental Guy Hobby Stocks return on July 31 as part of the Riebes Classic Car Fan Appreciation night. Just $5 to get into the grandstands. The final two races take place on September 25 and 26. On the 26th, we will crown a 2026 track champion.

CHICO, Calif., July 12, 2026…This Friday, July 17, Silver Dollar Speedway will honor, celebrate, and remember former sprint car champion Tyler Wolf and his father, Chuck Wolf, during the 13th running of the Wolf Memorial. Fans will be treated to an exciting night of racing featuring the Sprint Car Challenge Tour (SCCT) and the Rental Guys Hobby Stock division.

On October 28, 2012, Redding driver Tyler Wolf's fast-rising sprint car career was tragically cut short following an accident at Calistoga Speedway. Wolf made history in 2011 by becoming the youngest 410 Sprint Car Track Champion at Silver Dollar Speedway, capturing the title at just 19 years old.

This past offseason, the racing community lost another champion with the passing of Chuck Wolf. Chuck played a vital role throughout Tyler's racing career and, following Tyler's passing, continued fielding a sprint car at Silver Dollar Speedway for many years. Last season, Chuck celebrated atop the podium alongside race winner Andy Forsberg. Little did anyone know that would be the final time Chuck would be at Chico. Together, Tyler and Chuck Wolf embodied what it meant to be champions both on and off the racetrack. Their legacy continues to inspire, and they are deeply missed by the entire racing community.

This year's Wolf Memorial also serves as the opening event of the Sprint Car Challenge Tour Speedweek.

The Wolf family will award a $100 bonus to the fastest qualifier and an additional bonus to the leader on Lap 19 of the feature event. Fans can also purchase a new batch of Wolf Memorial T-shirts at the merchandise area Friday night.

Bodega Pizza will award $200 and two large pizzas to the sprint car fast-time qualifier.

The Rental Guys Hobby Stock Championship continues Friday night with the fifth points race of the 2026 season. Zach Lindgren currently leads Jason Clayton and Toby Merrifield by just eight points, while Jacob Bright sits fourth in the championship standings.

If you are going into the Pit Area tonight, the only access is the South Entrance. There will be a guard at the gate instructing where to go. Only Haulers allowed into the Pit Area. Personal vehicles will be parked near the newly located pit booth for tonights race to make it easy for crew members not with the hauler to walk up to the pit booth and gain access.
