Hey Everyone,

It has come to our attention that a number of you donated through the NVCF link to help get the track moving. Unfortunately our NVCF account only shows 2 donors. We think this is the result of two “donate” buttons on the page. The one with the heart icon is a direct donation to NVCF, while the one under our logo goes to the track.

If you donated, please reach out to us directly so we can address this issue with NVCF and get your donation to the right place!

Hey Everyone,

Drainage is going in as we speak and we're gearing up for the upcoming track shaping. While we're making good progress, there are some pressing needs to keep the ball rolling.

The first immdiate need is fuel. We need 250 to 300 gallons of diesel (clear or red) to fuel equipment during the shaping process. The estimated cost is $1,500.

Following fuel, we need PVC irrigation materials (see attached document for needed materials and price estimate). This will allow us to get water to the track bed so we can work at compacting the riding surface.

We have a 300 gallon fuel tank on-site so, If you're willing to donate fuel or materials, or know someone who is, please reach out. If you're interested in financially supporting the project, consider making a donation to our North Valley Community Foundation Fund linked here:

Hello All,

I’d like to start out by thanking everyone for their patience. It has not been lost on the Silver Dollar BMX Board of Directors that we have been without a BMX track for much longer than was ever planned. Through it all, the board has worked with community partners to get the track that was promised to the community beginning in 2017, a “world class track”, rebuilt and rideable.

The beginning of 2025 witnessed several setbacks surrounding funding and planning for the track. At the end of July, a community member who has been following the project reached out to see what they could do to help. After a few conversations and e-mails, the individual was able to not only source the under-track drainage materials Silver Dollar BMX needs, but was also able to arrange for the installation of those materials. As a result, a crew will be out at the track site beginning October 6, 2025, to install the drainage on the track bed. This work is estimated to take about a week.

With the conversation going on surrounding the drainage, we reached out to USABMX to see if they would be available to shape the new track before the end of 2025. Despite a narrow window and short timeline, USABMX was able to get Silver Dollar BMX on the schedule for track shaping beginning October 22, 2025. The hope is to have a shaped track by Halloween.

To support the shaping of the track, USABMX has asked Silver Dollar BMX to source a front-loader, a water source (in our case a water truck), and someone to be on-site to help the track builder, Billy Allen. Silver Dollar BMX leadership was able to secure a donation for the use of the loader, water truck, and someone to be on-site to support Billy while he builds the track.

The Silver Dollar BMX board of directors was able to finalize plans and secure the necessary support on Thursday and Friday of last week, and we are excited to be able to report forward progress on the project.

We are working on a list of additional needs for this phase of the project and will provide that list in the very near future.
Again, thank you for your support, and as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

With Gratitude,

Phil

Good Morning All!

As we continue to move forward on our BMX track project, the outpouring of support in the last week has been tremendous! The number of folks reaching out to connect us to materials suppliers, potential donors, and folks to help us complete the next phase of construction reminds us of how amazing the BMX community is.

Through one of those connections, we were able to cut materials costs for our drainage by almost 50%! An updated materials list is attached with the changed pricing highlighted in yellow.

While the prices have gone down significantly, which is tremendous, we still need financial support to purchase those items. As a reminder, Silver Dollar BMX is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations, whether they be money or materials, are tax deductible. Please continue to reach out if you know an individual or business that may willing to donate or reduce the price of materials and labor, or provide the necessary funds, to help us get this project across the finish line!

We also have sponsorship opportunities for businesses interested in supporting our construction efforts that way!

Again, thank you BMX community for your support. Lets get this thing across the finish line!

Hello To All,

I hope this message finds you well. For those of you in school or with kids in school, we hope the academic year is off to a good start. While the last six months have been challenging for Silver Dollar BMX, we finally have some GREAT news to share.

Some of you may have noticed equipment and work occurring at our track site. Franklin Construction of Chico, CA, was out there getting things prepped for our new track. While this is super exciting news and we would have loved to share it when it started, what we could say about the work being done was limited due to some administrative issues surrounding permitting.

We successfully resolved the administrative issues, and I'm thrilled to announce that the grading for our new track facility is now COMPLETE! I’ve attached some pictures. The site is starting to resemble a real BMX track!

The next step is to purchase and install the underground infrastructure (drainage, electrical conduit, and water lines). A list of materials needed to complete that portion of the project, as well as cost estimates for those materials, is included as a photo in this post. If you or someone you know would like to donate the needed materials or funds that would allow us to purchase the materials or are willing to install them, please connect them with a board member to facilitate that. Silver Dollar BMX is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all materials, equipment, money, or in-kind labor donations are tax-deductible.

The environmental mitigation permit for our work this year expires on October 15th, so we will need to shut down our work on the site by then. We will be able to resume in April.

I've attached a list of necesssary materials with price estimates for the next phase of the project starting with the drainage. The item highlighted in green is material we already have for the project. Everything else on the list is still needed. We have the exact specifications for the drain boxes if anyone needs them.

To be clear, none of these price estimates include the cost of installation of the materials. As it looks like most/all of the installation will have to occur next spring, we will also need some erosion fencing and grass seed to establish erosion control along the creek that borders our project.

Silver Dollar BMX appreciates all support from the community as we work toward completing this project. We’d like to extend a special thanks to Oak Ridge Cabinets, Franklin Construction, and a number of other small businesses that have supported our efforts to this point. Getting this far has been a long, hard road, but we’re excited to see some progress.

As always, if anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at (530) 520-2014 or e-mail me at [email protected].

With Gratitude,

Phil Wysocki, Track Operator

Everyone,

As we posted about our upcoming board meeting, it has come to our attention that a little clarity about what "Phase 1" of construction means would be helpful. Phase 1 (as the board has termed it) is getting us to the point where we, at minimum, have a track that can be ridden. That may not include lighting, a permanent building or bathrooms, or even completion of both start hills. Phase 1 is simply the bare minimum things we need in place to get us back to riding.

With that in mind, we've broken "Phase 1" down into smaller, more digestible steps. The first step of Phase 1 is getting underground infrastructure installed, and the track and start hills reshaped.

We are currently under contract with Franklin Construction to grade the property and our hope is to start grading ASAP. There are a small number of administrative pieces we are working through to that end. Part of the discussion at the upcoming board meeting will be about getting out in the coming weeks and knocking down the weeds on the property so Franklin can get started.

There are also a list of materials we need to complete step 1 of Phase 1. The link below will take you to the list of materials, as well as the amounts of each we need.

The board received this finalized list about a week ago and have been working on securing funding for and/or donations of the materials from a number of sources. We are still waiting to hear back and, until we do, all of the listed items are still needed.

While installation of some of the materials can be accomplished by volunteers, installation the drainage is likely a different story.

If you, or someone you know, is able to or interested in donating the materials, please feel free to reach out to a member of the board so any donation can be facilitated.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday night!
