🚗🇺🇸 GREAT NEWS FOR CALIFORNIA’S CLASSIC CAR HOBBY! 🇺🇸🚗

We thought our Sierra View Cruisers friends might be interested in a simple explanation of California’s newly signed SB 1392 — better known as “Jay Leno’s Law.”

The new law will eventually provide a Smog Check exemption for certain 1976–1985 collector vehicles — but it will happen gradually beginning in 2028.

Here’s the easy breakdown:

🔧 1975 & older — Already generally Smog Check exempt
🔧 1976–1980 — Eligible beginning January 1, 2028
🔧 1981 — January 1, 2029
🔧 1982 — January 1, 2030
🔧 1983 — January 1, 2031
🔧 1984 — January 1, 2032
🔧 1985 — January 1, 2033

⚠️ One important thing to know: This does NOT automatically make every vehicle from these years smog exempt. The vehicle must meet the law’s requirements as a collector vehicle, including requirements involving collector use and qualifying insurance or limited annual mileage.

The exemption also applies to the Smog Check requirement and does not automatically make otherwise prohibited emissions modifications legal.

For those of us who love preserving, driving and sharing these pieces of automotive history, it’s certainly an interesting change for California’s classic-car hobby! ❤️🚘

2. Car Show and fun events at Nelson Complex in Oroville - Saturday 11am -2pm
3. Durham Harvest Festival in Durham Park under the shade trees! Pancake breakfast, lunch BBQ, vendors and fun! 🤩. You’re not going to want to miss this one!! - Sunday 7am-4pm
4. Cars & Coffee in Paradise at Gill’s Auto Works! - Saturday 8am - 11am

Whatever event you enjoy this weekend, the weather should be perfect, the laughter abundant and the fun around the next corner! So get out and drive it if you’ve got it!!! Get ready for this weeks Show N Stroll! Some of our club members are attending, however they will be bringing their vintage trailers!!! This is a great event in downtown Oroville set in the historic center of town, lots of great cars to see, food to eat and music to enjoy!! Hope to see you there!!!

Endless Summer isn't just about classic cars. Bring your vintage camper, classic travel trailer, or vintage boat and help us celebrate those final golden days of summer. Whether it rolled down the highway or floated across the lake, we want to see the memories that made summer unforgettable!

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the incredible courage of the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who stepped forward in one of our nation’s darkest moments.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember where we were. We remember the heartbreak, the heroes, and the way our country came together in the days that followed.

As members of the Sierra View Cruisers, we proudly honor the memory of those who were lost, those who answered the call to help, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

May we never forget their sacrifice, their courage, and the strength we found in one another.

Recently, several of our car club members attended the Roamin’ Angels’ Cruisin’ the Pines Car Show in Grass Valley—but this time, we didn’t bring our classic cars…we brought our vintage trailers!

Over the years, as many as 20 vintage trailers have been displayed at this event, and they’re always a big hit with car show attendees. This year was no exception! We had such a wonderful time visiting with everyone who stopped by, and we loved hearing all the compliments and stories our trailers inspired.

One of the things that makes our club so special is the variety of interests our members share. We may have come together because of our love for classic cars, but as you can see, cars are just one of the many things that keep us having fun together!

Great cars, vintage trailers, good friends, and plenty of adventures—that’s what it’s all about!

It has come to our attention that some people may have a different view of our Facebook profile and not see our "About" information. We have looked up this information and it seems it has to do with different permissions that each individual may have within their Facebook log in, there is no really rhyme or reason for this at this time. So, with that in mind, should you want to know more about our club, please see below, and we hope that you will join us at our next meeting in October.

We meet on the 1st Thursday of the month at Aztlan Taqueria & Grill at 2601 Esplanade Chico, CA, unless another location is necessary for our monthly meeting. We meet at 5:30PM for socializing and a no-host dinner, and our meetings begin at 6:30PM. If you would like to join us, we would be more than happy to welcome new guests!! Bonus if you bring your car to show off at a meeting!!
