We hope everyone is doing okay after that rough weather. It has certainly been a challenging time, and we know some are still without power—hoping things get back to normal for you very soon.

As of today, 2/7/2025, Cheswick Marina is in great shape! The docks are clear of ice, the river looks pristine and we’re getting ready for a great boating season. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water soon!

Take a look back in time with us as we explore the rich history of Cheswick Marina, captured in aerial photos from 1974 to today!

Fun Facts about Our Marina’s Past:
• Pre-1924: Long before it became the marina we know today, our property started as a residential dwelling with a warehouse and shed on site.
• 1930s: By the early ‘30s, a small store had set up shop on the property, likely serving local residents and passersby.
• 1947: Transitioning to more industrial use, the property became a hub for loading and unloading barges, with equipment stored on-site for river-related operations.
• 1993: The property officially transformed into a boat marina, marking the start of a new era on the water that’s now enjoyed by so many!
Cheswick Marina has evolved over the decades, adapting to the needs of our community and our beloved Allegheny River. It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come—from a simple store to a bustling marina, now complete with modern docks, storage, and launch facilities for all your boating adventures. We’re proud to continue building on this historic foundation, welcoming new and returning boaters every season.

It sounds like an exciting development! Pittsburgh Brewery is expanding with a permanent boat dock. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly with the DEP, and the permit gets approved soon.
