Learn, do and then teach. Members of CMA’s Richmond Dealerships Green Team continued the afterschool program with the Youth Center at Ft.Lee. We completed the sensory garden, Katherine Waller shared some of CMA’s sustainable practices that the kids can take home with them. To celebrate Earth Week CMA’s Richmond stores were invited to the Youth Center on Fort Lee to host a 4-H afterschool workshop with the kids.

E-I-E-I-O: Sometimes we get to give our time instead of dollars, and today was one of those days. CMA's Richmond Dealerships helped at 2nd grade Farm Day in Prince George County,VA. This is an annual event that the VA Cooperative Extension and Farm Bureau host where all of the 2nd graders get to spend the day in an outdoor classroom learning about the food that they eat and the farmers that grow it. A Chevy Colorado from CMA's Colonial Chevrolet was turned into a mock Local Veggie Stand. Jennie Lockett and Keith Black from the Richmond Philanthropy Team led lessons and served as group leaders.

Skills USA is a 501c3 organization that sponsors and supports Trade Education across the US. On 1/16 CMA’s Richmond Dealerships were honored to sponsor the District 12 Regional Auto Tech Competition at Rowanty Technical Center in Carson, VA.

9 students from 4 local high schools came together to test their skills In Engine Performance, Steering & Suspension, Brakes, and Electrical Systems.

CMA’s Colonial Honda & CMA’s Colonial Chevrolet created skills challenges and judged events in collaboration with BMUU, Wheelan, and Strosnider Chevrolet.

Students had 10 minutes to read the challenge, formulate a plan, and execute a solution.

Each student was outstanding in their efforts!

Thank you to the families that came out to support their students and thank you to Beth Flory Markwood for supporting our event and handling registration!

Thank you most of all to our dedicated Auto Tech Instructors from Rowanty- Chesterfield Technical Center and Colonial Heights Technical Center! Your pride and dedication to your students and the future of Automotive is greatly appreciated!

Special thanks to David Inge and Jordan Taylor for designing the challenges and to Corey Dahl & Jessie ONeill for providing trucks for our event!

Congratulations to our top 4 contestants who demonstrated great thought and strategy and to all of our competitors for a job well done!
