I took the plunge today and went for it on the rear fender cut out. Actual tire will be @" bigger in diameter at 26". ...

I took the plunge today and went for it on the rear fender cut out. Actual tire will be @" bigger in diameter at 26". Shooting for 11" wide. I'll be cutting out the inner fender back to a seam in the center and replacing it with a flat section that comes out to the outer fender. This will allow at least 1" more tire.
The white cut out is a front fender from the same type car.

Been getting some work done on my buddy Andy's H1. Was banging pretty hard when we drove it in, guy in FL went straight to needs a new motor. We found 3 bad rod bearings, replaced, now running strong. Going through a list of other things now.
