Evan had a good run at the Jr Johnson Memorial in Limited Mod warmup. He put this ride together and he and Simon went down to Florence just the two of them. About as bare bones as you can get with no other help. Unfortunately he missed the tires for the second race and opted out . Still a great accomplishment. What knowledge does it take to make a driver “quick”? 🏁 Poles, Track Records, Marque wins…
Some drivers accomplish this relatively early in their career. Others get better over time and as they gain knowledge of setup begin to see the checkered flag more often.
👉So my question is how much does setup knowledge really help a driver?
👉Can “ too much knowledge” interfere on track with making speed?
👉Should a driver only focus specifically through the shield of the helmet?
👉Or does understanding the dynamics and making your own changes to tires, air , chemical and such help create speed for the driver?
🤔What are your thoughts?
