Starting at midnight on Friday morning, April 10, the Great Bridge Bridge will return to its normal operating schedule. From 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., the bridge opens on the hour. Waterway guests - the City has adjusted the schedule for the Great Bridge Bridge to help alleviate the congestion. The bridge will open on even hours 6A, 8A, 10A, 12N, 2P, 4P, 6P, 8P, etc. If you're in Chesapeake, we hope you will tie-up and spend some time enjoying all there is to offer. Everything you need is within steps of the waterway! We appreciate your patience with the bridge schedule. City of Chesapeake Government

Effective today, October 21, at 4:00 p.m. the Great Bridge Bridge will open to maritime traffic on an even hour schedule. This adjusted schedule will be in place until further notice: 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., etc. Additional information will be provided when available.
