🚗🔧 A New School Year Is Underway in the Chesaning High School Automotive Collision Program! 🔥🛠️

We’re excited to kick off another year of hands-on learning in the Chesaning High School Automotive Collision program. After completing SP2 Safety Training, students are already getting started building the technical skills, work habits, and confidence they’ll need in the automotive and skilled trades industries.

This year, our program offerings include:

• Advanced Collision Welding
• Basic Collision Related Mechanical
• Basic Collision Related Welding
• Automotive Collision Repair
• Automotive Reconditioning

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to work with industry-related tools and equipment while learning skills in welding, vehicle repair, mechanical systems, collision repair, refinishing, detailing, and reconditioning.

We’re looking forward to a great year

filled with hands-on projects, new skills, teamwork, problem solving, and plenty of time in the shop!

Chesaning Union Schools is proud to share an exciting update from the Michigan SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Grand Rapids!

Oliver Keck brought home a 1st place finish in Related Technical Math—an incredible accomplishment.

Pierce VanHaaren also had an outstanding showing, earning the Silver Medal in Automotive Collision Repair, along with over $2,000 in scholarships for tools and equipment to support his future in the industry.

Both students competed against the best in the state, demonstrating not only technical excellence but also professionalism and commitment to their craft. Their achievements highlight the strength of our Career and Technical Education programs and the bright futures ahead for our students.

Hands-On Learning Meets Real World Recycling!

Mr. Chrysler’s shop classes have been hard at work separating aluminum, copper, and electric motors. The students are learning how to properly dismantle and identify different types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

This hands-on training not only teaches valuable skills but also supports their program in a sustainable way! Proceeds from the scrap metal collected are recycled through Resourceful Recycling, and the funds go right back into the classroom to enhance tools, equipment, and student projects.

We’re proud to partner with our local schools to help turn waste into opportunity and to inspire the next generation of recyclers, innovators, and problem-solvers. 🌍💪
