Summer humidity doesn't just
make your RV uncomfortable.

It attacks your electrical system.
Quietly. Constantly.

Here's what's actually happening.

TERMINAL CORROSION.
Moisture gets into every
electrical connection over time.
Terminals oxidize. Connections
loosen. What was a solid
connection becomes intermittent.
Lights flicker. Outlets become
unreliable. Systems stop working
for no obvious reason.

CORRODED CONNECTIONS ARE DANGEROUS.
A loose corroded connection
generates heat.
Heat in an electrical system
is how fires start.
This is not a small problem.

HUMIDITY TRIPS GFCI OUTLETS.

Nobody tells you what summer does to your RV, but we are gonna say it.

Because summer heat turns
a manageable tank situation
into a serious problem fast.

Here's what you need to know.

HEAT ACCELERATES EVERYTHING.
Bacteria grows faster in heat.
Waste breaks down differently.
Odors are stronger.
Buildup happens quicker.
What you could get away with
in spring becomes a problem
by July.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR BLACK TANK
CLOSED TOO LONG.
The old rule of "keep it closed
until it's full" causes pyramid
plugs — solid waste buildup
that doesn't flush out.
In summer heat this happens
faster than any other time of year.

FLUSH YOUR GREY TANK WEEKLY.
Grey water sitting in summer
heat becomes a smell problem
quickly. Flush and rinse weekly
when you're actively using the RV.

USE PLENTY OF WATER.
Every flush needs sufficient water

But here's what you need to
check before you assume
everything is okay.

ROOF SEALS FIRST.
Rain finds every weakness
in your roof sealant instantly.
Walk the roof as soon as
it's safe to do so.
Look for pooling water around
vents, seams and the AC unit.
If water sat anywhere for
more than an hour — investigate.

WINDOW AND DOOR SEALS NEXT.
Run your hand along every
window frame and door seal
inside the RV.
Feel for moisture or new
soft spots in the wall material.
Rain gets in through seals
that looked perfectly fine
in dry weather.

CHECK UNDER EVERY SINK.
Open every cabinet under
every sink and look for
new water or moisture.
A seal that's been weeping
slowly will show itself
after a heavy rain.

CHECK ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENTS.
Any water intrusion near
electrical systems is an
immediate priority.
Open your main electrical
compartment and look for
moisture, rust or water marks
that weren't there before.

Water damage in an RV

Before you pull out of the
driveway this weekend,
run through these 5 checks.

Takes less than 30 minutes.
Could save your entire trip.

01 — ROOF SEALS AND SEAMS
Walk the roof. Look for cracking
or lifting at every seam, vent
and AC unit. One bad seal in
summer heat becomes a leak
faster than any other season.

02 — AC FILTER AND OUTPUT
Pull the filter. If it's grey
and clogged your AC is working
twice as hard for half the result.
Clean or replace it before you go.
Then run the unit and check
the air coming out is actually cold.

03 — TIRE PRESSURE AND SIDEWALLS
Check cold pressure against
the placard inside your door.
Then walk every tire and look
at the sidewalls for cracking
or bulging. Heat plus underinflated
tires is how blowouts happen.

04 — FRESH WATER TANK AND PUMP
Fill the tank. Run every tap.
Listen to the pump.
If it cycles on and off when
everything is closed you have
a leak somewhere in the system.
Find it before you're 200 miles
from home.

05 — ALL SLIDE OPERATION
Run every slide in and out.
Listen for grinding.
Watch for uneven movement.
A slide that struggles at home
will fail on the road.

Your RV roof takes more abuse in summer than any other season.

Here's what's happening up there
right now while you're reading this.

UV rays are breaking down
your roof sealant every single day.
Most sealants start cracking
after repeated heat cycles.
Once it cracks, water finds a way in.

Heat expansion is working
against every seam on your roof.
The material expands in the heat
and contracts at night.

It's 90 degrees outside. Your RV AC is running full blast, and it's still 80 degrees inside. Sound familiar?
It's 90 degrees outside.

Here's what's actually going on:

1. Dirty filter killing airflow
The most common cause and
the easiest fix. Check it first.
A clogged filter makes your AC
work twice as hard for half
the result.

2. Low refrigerant charge
If the unit is running but
not cooling the air coming
out is warm. That's a
refrigerant issue.
Needs a tech.

3. Failing capacitor or compressor
The AC kicks on but struggles
to maintain temperature.
Cycles on and off more than normal.
That's a component failing.
Don't ignore it.

4. Unit too small for the heat load
If you're in direct sun with
poor ventilation your AC may
simply be undersized for
the conditions.
Add a reflective windshield cover.
Park in shade where possible.
