Letter from the Editor;
I once saw a quote, probably in a bathroom somewhere, but it said, “When the past becomes the present you lose the future” now that is food for thought. I say that to say this, if you haven’t noticed a lot of our community lives in the present and we do our best to take care of those around us. Toy Runs, Canned food drives, fundraisers, and everything else of the like.
I had the privilege of stepping away from riding motorcycles to participate in something that is dear to all of us, giving back. A couple of us went to Beard-a-Nooga for the 5th year event and wow. This is not the first time that we have been part of this event, and I know it will not be the last. So many different people with one common factor coming together to help… Beards that’s what is in common if you hadn’t figured it out.
The event raised money for the Forgotten Child fund to make sure no child is forgotten on Christmas and Project Gallantly Forward which is a Veteran-to-Veteran retreat and support center. That is just the tip of the iceberg for both, and I suggest going and looking them up.
This year was the biggest turnout yet and was awesome to see the people that travel in for this event, if you tend to be a little lazy with shaving your face, I say grow it out and come next year. To those that made it out thank you for coming. To those that competed a very special thank you (since they were truly the only people that had to pay to be there)
We can not wait to see what 2027 has in store for Beard-a-Nooga
