Hey Virginia, don't let folks lead you astray - registration decals HAVE NOT gone away.

We've been seeing people posting about the Registration Modernization bill (HB2080/SB1061 in 2025, HB 1143 in 2026), which included decals, supposedly going into effect on July 1, 2026.

‼️It's not.‼️

It did not pass out of committee and was not made law.

Decals will continue to be issued with registration renewals, and you will be required to update those stickers on your plates.

Don't believe anything about changes in DMV policies just because some guy your cousin follows claims its true. If the requirements ever change, we'll be the first to let you know!
