Apprentice Diaries: Day 146 🐾📖🐾

The boss scheduled a meeting with Cooper today—but apparently, it fell right in the middle of his regularly scheduled nap. 😂

He tried his best to stay awake, but the droopy eyes and unusual sleeping position gave him away. Employee of the Month may not be looking promising…but perhaps his performance review will go better after nap time.

Should the boss let this one slide or put a warning in his employee file? 👀

Mystery clunk: solved. 🔍🔧

The vehicle was making a noticeable clunking noise while braking and coming to a stop. During the inspection, our technician found that both front lower control arm rear bushings were coming out of their sleeves.

If your vehicle develops a new clunk, knock, or other unusual noise, don’t turn up the radio and hope it disappears. Those sounds can provide important clues about what’s happening underneath your vehicle. Stop by or give us a call!!

Help us wish Daniel a very happy birthday! 🎉🎂

Daniel joined Compton’s Automotive five years ago as an intern and apprentice, and we’ve had the privilege of watching him work his way up to performing all types of repairs and services. His strong work ethic, careful attention to detail, and willingness to keep learning make him an important part of our team.

His love for cars started long before joining the shop—Daniel has been racing since he was six years old and even has his NASCAR driver’s license! 🏁

He may still be the baby of the shop, but now that Cooper is the newest apprentice, Daniel has finally moved up in seniority. 😂🐾

Happy birthday, Daniel! We’re proud of how far you’ve come and grateful to have you on our team!

That wheel should not move that easily. 😳

During our inspection, the technician found excessive play caused by a severely worn wheel bearing. Wheel bearings help your wheels rotate smoothly while keeping them securely supported. As they wear, you may notice humming or grinding noises, vibration, uneven tire wear or looseness in the steering.

Ignoring a worn wheel bearing can affect the vehicle’s handling and create a serious safety concern. If your vehicle starts making a new noise or simply doesn’t feel right, it’s worth having it inspected.

When warning lights stay on and your truck just doesn’t feel right, finding the real cause makes all the difference. 🔧

After months of unsuccessful repair attempts, our team diagnosed the issue, addressed the worn rack and pinion assembly, and got those frustrating antilock brake warning lights turned off. Now the truck handles better, and its owner can drive with confidence again.

A huge congratulations to our very own Jonathan on bringing home the win in Nebraska!

Every year, Jonathan and his dad travel to Nebraska—and plenty of other places—to do what they love. Together, they put in the hours working on the car, and then Jonathan gets behind the wheel and puts all that hard work to the test.

This win represents more than one great race. It’s the result of years of dedication, skill, teamwork, and a pretty special father-son tradition.

We may be a day late, but we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate Trisha! 🎉

Long before she officially joined us at the shop, Trisha was an important part of Compton’s Automotive. While Todd put in the long hours required to build the business, she kept everything moving at home—raising their sons, working, cooking, managing the household, and doing countless other things that often went unseen.

She has always supported Todd’s dreams in every way she could, whether that meant lending a hand, offering encouragement, or simply being the person who listened when things were difficult. Now, we’re lucky to have her officially working alongside us at the shop!

Happy belated birthday, Trisha! We hope you know how loved and appreciated you are—not only for everything you do, but for the wonderful person you are. 💛🎂
