We can adjust the level of Chrome Shadow brightness to suit the client's request, from OEM to darker or lighter depending on preference. Samples sprayed in the lobby to compare: take them outside in the sunlight to view next to your vehicle before deciding!
Chrome Shadow refinishing is a long process with a lot of labor involved.
•On arrival we check every wheel for cracks, bends or other visible damage. Anything concerning is reported to the client before we proceed.
•We then strip all of the existing finish off of the wheel.
•Any cosmetic damage (curb rash, scratched spokes, etc) is repaired
•The wheels are pretreated for coating in a phosphate wash. Pretreatment bath improves adhesion.
•Wheels then go through outgassing. Outgassing releases any trapped gasses in the metal before coating.
• Hub area is masked to protect it from from overspray.
•The coating stages consist of a powder coated base coat, a liquid Chrome Shadow color coat and a clear acrylic top coat. Each coat is cured individually. We use an acrylic top coat because it is clearer and stronger that any paint or a polyester powder.
•It is possible for us to do Chrome Shadow darker or brighter than OEM. We will assume you want OEM level unless you tell us differently. We keep samples in our lobby to view in person.
•Any tires are installed & Roadforce balanced using stick on weights. We will dispose of any old tires per the client's request.
• The office will then contact you regarding payment and shipping or pick up.
