On this rainy day, we remember our co-worker Parker Kvasnicka that we sadly lost in a motorcycle accident one year ago today. At just 19 years old, Parker was wise beyond his years and had a passion for tackling any obstacle he faced. We miss him dearly and he along with his family are at the forefront of our thoughts today.

To honor him, our team donated Legos, one of Parker’s favorites, to Toys For Tots.

Catalytic converter theft is a common occurrence in most urban areas. This customer experienced it 4 times prior to their company vehicle being brought to us. At a cost of $9,000 to replace the converters with factory parts, they knew something had to be done to reduce the likelihood of a theft a fifth time. We installed Miller CAT Corp shields to provide them some protection.

Much like locks or alarms on vehicles, businesses and homes, nothing can prevent theft 100% of the time. But we are hopeful this investment pays off for the customer.

This week our employees and the employees of Charlotte HERO Patrol Roadside Assistance received CPR, AED and First Aid training. Whether they experience an emergency on or off duty, our team members are certainly better prepared to handle situations while awaiting emergency responders.

This has been a tough week for our employees as we lost a valuable team member in a tragic motorcycle accident Sunday December 8.

Parker Allan Kvasnicka, 19, began his career with Metrolina Fleet Services December 11, 2023, and he was only three days shy of his one-year work anniversary when he lost his life and a mere month away from his 20th birthday.

We closed our shop early yesterday to attend the visitation and funeral service for Parker where we got to spend some time with his friends and family, and we learned so much more about the amazing person he was. Although we are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of someone who had such a bright future, we are grateful for the opportunity to have Parker cross paths with our employees. He knew no limits and excelled in every task assigned to him.

From achieving his North Carolina State Inspector certification to the upcoming training he was going to attend to service the new Amazon.com Rivian Electric Delivery Vans, Parker truly embraced success in anything he was involved in.

Although Parker may no longer be physically with us at Metrolina Fleet Services, we know he'll always be watching over us and celebrating our successes. He, along with his parents, Matt and Julie, brother, Matthew, sister, Ella and family dogs, Max and Hudson will forever be in our thoughts, and they will always be part of our family.

And please remember, regardless of what type of vehicle you drive or how great of a driver you are, please always take an extra moment to look twice before pulling onto a roadway. Look Twice - Save a Life can mean life or death for a motorcycle rider so please don't be the reason someone else loses their life.

The Charlotte HERO and Metrolina Fleet teams do a company lunch together every week. Sometimes it’s pizza, sometimes it’s burgers and hotdogs. This week our in-house chef Clayton prepared Japanese hibachi on our Blackstone grill. With steak, chicken, shrimp and fried rice to choose from, our crew enjoyed the great lunch today.

Happy International Cat Day to our office cat, Rivian! She recently wandering into our parking lot and stole our hearts so she is now our resident office mascot. We named her after our friends at Rivian Automotive since she showed up the same week Amazon.com was rolling out the new Rivian Electric Delivery Vehicles in our area.

Because of the cold weather our area will be experiencing in the coming days, our partner, Charlotte HERO Patrol Roadside Assistance, is giving out travel blankets that are great for keeping in your car in case of emergency. They are available at no cost and can be picked up at our shop anytime today until 5pm. We are located at 3717 Northerly Rd Charlotte 28206.

If you haven’t heard, our area will be experiencing some life threatening cold temperatures in the coming days. A vehicle breakdown could result in you having to spend time inside your vehicle without the ability to use your heat to stay warm.

To help you prepare for an unforeseen vehicle breakdown, we have a limited supply of blankets that we are giving away at no charge and they’re available while supplies last. These are great to keep in your vehicle in case of an emergency. You can pick them up at our office located at 3717 Northerly Rd Charlotte 28206. We’re co-located with Metrolina Fleet Services, LLC directly behind Advance Auto Parts off Statesville Ave 1 block from I-85 exit 39. They are available today until 5pm so feel free to stop by and pick up a couple for your vehicle.
