An amazing thing happened today. As I was driving home I stopped at St. Martin's Episcopal Church to check on the donations which we intended to provide to Operation Airdrop. Many of you reached out to me to shared that the donation drop off was ceasing at Operation Airdrop. I was aware and had joined their update call today where I learned about how they are now transitioning to search and rescue. Anyway, as I pulled into a church there was a group from the organization The Independence Fund using our parking lot to transfer their donations into a trailer to be carried to towns across Western NC. This is an org that serves our veterans and former law enforcement communities. Through their network across the state they are getting donations to those hardest hit and in the back country. We are now connected and our donations made their way to those in need today. I briefly met some amazing folks today which I so look forward to forming friendships with in service together. I plan to make trips with them in the near future too to those areas hardest hit by Helene. All I can say if this was the Holy Spirit at work. PLEASE keep the donations coming to St. Martin's! Water, non-perishable foods, diapers, baby formula and bottles, and any of the items I previously posted. And also please share! More to come soon.
We will be collecting items for Operation Airdrop for the foreseeable future. See the link in bio for Fr. Josh’s most recent letter to the parish. Current most requested items are: pre-mixed baby formula, granola bars, chewable Benadryl, beef jerky, trail mix, diapers, baby food, new towels and new socks. Please reach out to if you would like to help deliver items to the Concord airport. Thank you!!
