What will Charleston’s workforce look like in 2030? 🤔

Production now leads the region’s high-demand occupations, with jobs projected to grow 16.7% between 2025 and 2030 and add approximately 3,945 net new positions.

➡️ That growth tells a bigger story. Continued investment in advanced manufacturing, combined with automation, AI-enabled processes and new technologies, is changing both the kinds of jobs our region needs and the skills needed to fill them.

What does an investment in regional economic development make possible?

For Charleston, it means new jobs, new companies, greater opportunity, and a stronger economy.

Over the past 30+ years, CRDA and our regional partners have helped support 333 location and expansion projects representing more than 40,000 new jobs and $1.52 billion in annual payroll.

And for every $1 invested in CRDA, $22 in new annual payroll has been generated for the region.

As the Charleston region enters its next chapter, continued investment will help us build on that momentum and pursue even greater opportunities over the next five years.

Together, we can transform what’s next for the Charleston region.

A great night for a great cause! 💃🕺

CRDA’s Jason Brown, Vice President of Investor Relations and External Affairs, recently took the stage for the inaugural Battle of the Ballroom, joining local leaders from across the Charleston region to help raise funds in support of Charleston County School District students and schools.

We’re proud to see Jason represent CRDA beyond the office and lend his time and talents to an event that brings the community together around public education and student success.

Congratulations to Jason, his fellow dancers and everyone who helped make the inaugural Battle of the Ballroom a memorable evening!
