Thank you all for keep us safe!

While many of us stayed warm and safe indoors the last two days, several local workers braved the freezing temps and heavy snow to keep Chardon moving.

Our sincerest thank you to:

Our Snow Plow Crews: For the endless loops around our city streets and the long hours spent clearing the way.

First Responders: For braving treacherous roads to reach those in need, no matter the conditions. 🚓🚑🚒

Tow Truck Operators: For being the lifelines we all hope we don’t need but are so grateful for when we’re stuck.

911 Dispatchers: For being the calm, steady voices on the other end of the line, coordinating help and keeping our crews connected through the peak of the storm.

We truly appreciate your dedication and the long shifts spent out in the elements. Chardon is a safer place because of you.

Be very careful out there!

From the National Weather Service:
..FLASH FREEZE POSSIBLE EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...

Temperatures will rapidly fall below freezing from west to east early Friday morning. This will begin around 3 AM along the I-75 corridor in Northwest Ohio, with all of northern Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania expected to be below freezing by 6 AM. Roads, bridges, parking lots, sidewalks, and other untreated surfaces that are still wet from rain and snowmelt may freeze leading to patches of black ice.

Plan on giving yourself extra time to reach your destination during the Friday morning commute. Use caution while walking on untreated sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots.
