Anyone need a 600HP engine for their project - cheap? I'm helping my friend sell this truck with a killer engine (a few thousand miles since install) on Bring A Trailer. I think you will be able to get the whole truck for less that the cost of an engine..... Big shout‑out to EJ Talik — one of the best street‑rod builders out there. I met EJ years ago when he was working for another builder, and watching him go out on his own has been awesome. His work is absolutely top‑tier.

I saw this car in his shop a few times during the build, and the attention to detail and custom touches were unreal. EJ’s craftsmanship is second to none.

If you love street rods, follow this guy. He’s the real deal.

We know there are 1/2 finished projects all over the US that are stuck for various reasons and many just eventually fade (or rust) away to become an unfulfilled dream......but, I truly want to help people get them finished. This had been a many year project (in many shops) over the past 10 years..... The owner (a friend of Hagan Street Rod Necessities), was stuck as to the next steps....... We stepped in with advice, helped him come up with ideas, develop a plan, and introduced him to some key people to get it done. (call us the General Contractor) ......and its moving forward at Motor City Metalcraft (The owners Hillary and Dan Fournier are wonderful people). The paint and body are as close to perfect as you can get. They are doing an excellent job....... top quality work. We are now in a little bit of a "scramble mode" to get it assembled before the Interior appointment.... but I'm sure they will get there. (Teaser: wait until you see who is doing the interior - can't wait - its going to be awesome)! - more to follow ......

It’s been a minute since I posted — took some time off social media after selling the Galaxie — but I’m back and ready to fire things up again.

We’ve been busy in the shop, and I’ll be rolling out updates on builds we have been managing, show events, and what’s coming next for Hagan Street Rod Necessities.

And because I can’t sit still… I’ve also been deep into something I love just as much as street rods: race car fabrication.
The last few months have been full‑throttle working on what I’m calling my final race car (not getting any younger), A Corvette road race car...... about 90% done and starting the debugging process. I've summed up all the work in a few pictures..... take a look! (the last pic is the status as of today)

UGH - Darn it - Detroit Autorama: Second place. We didn't build it to win beauty contests, but sure would have been nice. BUT we sooooo appreciated the comments from people that stopped by...... And it was great to spend time with my wife, father and two daughters, son-in-law (and of course Dave) at the show...... worth the price of admission. Next step? .... not sure....... but thinking Mecum Indy.

One other bright spot - Dave (Tina Massey Gulda) built an awesome display and won the Outstanding Display award.

Set up at Detroit Autorama was uneventful - - just the way I like it!!!!! It's always a sense of relief when you get the car to the first show. Now, on to the next project, please........

Whew... we made it with 15 hours to spare... Locked and Loaded - the Galaxie is the trailer ready for setup day tomorrow at the Detroit Autorama..... (and yes, it drove into the trailer! We don't need no stinkin' winches) .....I'll send LOTS of pics over the weekend... stay tuned!

Detroit Autorama - here we come. It's all about the little things now. Exhaust is installed, Underside detailed, a few scratches touched up on the exterior, dyed the interior windlace, installed the hood underside panels, etc ....... last thing...windows will be tinted on Monday. Have I said how tired I am of working on this project........ Am I done yet?

Almost ready for Autorama....2.5 years! Someone asked me last week why this car is taking so long..... Well, we finished the trunk today - a very minor part of the car...... I thought I would document with a handful of pics the work that it took to get just the (non-important that no one will ever see) trunk, done.......
