It's 2 PM on a Tuesday and a plumbing contractor is standing in his driveway trying to remember which of his six vans is closest to the job that just came in. He calls two drivers before he finds one who's actually nearby. By the time that van gets there, twenty minutes are gone that the customer's now factoring into their opinion of the company.

Multiply that by every dispatch, every week, across a fleet that's grown past the size where a phone tree still works. It's not one bad afternoon. It's a management problem hiding inside what looks like a scheduling problem.

Most fleet owners don't need more trucks. They need to know where the ones they have actually are.

That's a visibility problem, not a headcount problem.

Ford Pro Telematics exists for exactly this gap, and it's one of the first things we walk fleet accounts through at Earnhardt Ford.

πŸ”Ή Real-Time Vehicle Location – See where every truck or van in the fleet actually is, instead of relying on a driver's best guess over the phone.

πŸ”Ή Maintenance Alerts – Get flagged on service needs before a warning light turns into a truck sitting in a bay for a week.

πŸ”Ή Driver Behavior Insights – Spot patterns like hard braking or excessive idling that quietly drive up fuel and maintenance costs.

A fleet you can see is a fleet you can actually manage. One you can't is just a collection of trucks hoping nothing goes wrong.

If dispatch decisions are still happening over the phone, that's worth a conversation.

Three weeks ago, a landscaping contractor out of Mesa called with a problem he'd been putting off for months. Two of his trucks were pushing well past 150,000 miles, and his crews were losing half a day every few weeks just waiting on repairs.
He'd priced out new trucks before, decided the payment didn't make sense, and kept patching the old ones instead. Meanwhile he was quietly eating the cost anyway, just spread out in tow bills, missed jobs, and overtime paying crews to make up for lost hours.
The real cost of an aging fleet almost never shows up as one big number. It shows up as a dozen small ones you stop noticing.
That's the piece most owners don't see until someone walks them through it side by side.
We sat down with him, ran the numbers on financing new Transits against what he'd actually spent keeping the old ones running, and the math wasn't close.
πŸ”Ή Total Cost Comparison – We laid out real repair history against a Ford Pro financing plan, not a sales pitch, just the two numbers next to each other.
πŸ”Ή Fleet Trade-In Value – His aging trucks still had trade value most owners underestimate, which dropped the new payment further than he expected.
πŸ”Ή One Point of Contact – From financing through upfitting the new vans for his crews, he worked with one person the entire time instead of juggling three vendors.
He's three weeks into the new trucks now and says the thing he notices most isn't the trucks themselves. It's how much less he thinks about them.
If you've been patching an aging fleet because the math never felt worth revisiting, it might be worth running the numbers again.

It's 7:40 AM and already pushing 95 degrees. Your foreman's on the phone: the F-350 pulling the skid steer trailer just started flashing a transmission temp warning halfway up the 202.

Now the trailer's parked on the shoulder, the crew's sitting in the cab waiting on a tow truck in the heat, and the client's calling to ask why nobody's shown up to break ground yet.

Arizona doesn't forgive a truck that's undersized for the load. It finds out fast, and it finds out expensive.

But that's a spec problem, not a bad-luck problem.

The 2026 Super Duty lineup from Ford Pro is built so towing math isn't a guess β€” and it's exactly what our fleet team at Earnhardt Ford walks through with every contractor before they order.

πŸ”Ή Class-Leading Payload & Towing – Power Stroke diesel torque and a GVWR range built for the load you actually spec, not the load you're hoping holds up in July.

πŸ”Ή Factory-Integrated Upfit Points – Chassis cab configurations ready for your body builder, so the truck arrives ready to work, not ready to modify.

πŸ”Ή Ford Pro Financing – Bundle the truck, the upfit, and the trailer package into one plan instead of chasing three.

A truck rated for the job isn't overkill β€” it's the difference between a crew that works and a crew that waits on the shoulder.

If you're specing a truck for real Arizona loads, that's a conversation worth having before the order goes in, not after.

It's 3:50 on a Friday and Shane's got his head under the hood of a Super Duty that rolled in an hour ago with a warning light nobody wants to see before a long weekend.
The crew's already got the trailer loaded for Monday's pour. If this truck doesn't move, the whole schedule slides, and somebody's making a call they don't want to make on a Friday afternoon.
The trucks that show up ready on Monday are the ones somebody actually checked on Friday.
That's not luck. That's the job.

Behind every fleet account at Earnhardt Ford, there's a service bay doing this kind of work before anyone asks for it.
πŸ”Ή Multi-Point Fleet Inspection – Every commercial vehicle gets checked bumper to bumper, not just the one thing that triggered the visit.
πŸ”Ή Priority Commercial Scheduling – Fleet accounts move to the front of the line, because a work truck waiting behind personal-vehicle oil changes is a truck that isn't earning.
πŸ”Ή Parts on Hand for Fleet Repairs – Commonly needed parts kept in stock locally, so a Friday diagnosis doesn't turn into a truck sitting until Wednesday.

A fleet that runs Monday through Friday without surprises isn't magic. It's maintenance that happened before anyone asked for it.
Next time you're in for service, stop by the bay and watch one of these checks happen start to finish.

250 years ago, a group of people decided to build something from scratch.
No blueprint. No guarantee it would work. Just a belief that if you put in the work, something worth having was on the other side.
That's not a bad description of every contractor and business owner I work with in Arizona either.
Ford has been part of that same story for 123 of those 250 years. Not by being the flashiest option β€” by being the most dependable one. The truck that showed up on job sites, farms, construction yards, and Main Streets across this country and just kept working.
Henry Ford didn't set out to build a car company. He set out to give everyday Americans the freedom to go further. That mission hasn't changed. It just looks like a Super Duty on a job site in Chandler now instead of a Model T on a dirt road in Michigan.
As America turns 250, I'm proud to represent a brand that's been woven into the fabric of this country's working story β€” and even prouder to serve the Arizona businesses that are still writing that story every single day.
Happy 250th, America.
Built Ford Tough. Built for exactly this.

Today is Memorial Day.
Not a day to celebrate β€” a day to remember.
To remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Who didn't come home. Whose families have carried that loss every day since.
From everyone at Earnhardt Ford Fleet in Chandler β€” we honor them. We are grateful for their sacrifice. And we will not forget.
Enjoy the day with the people you love. And take a moment today to remember the reason we have it.

Out on the course today at the ALCA Golf Tournament representing Earnhardt Ford Fleet.

We're sponsoring the Hole in One challenge β€” and if someone finds the bottom of the cup today, they're driving home in a 2026 Ford Bronco.

That's not a bad way to spend a Thursday in Arizona.

Big thanks to ALCA for putting on a great event benefiting the Sky Blu Underwood Scholarship. Proud to be part of it alongside my colleague Shane Gurule from our Commercial Service team.

To everyone out there today β€” good luck. You're going to need it. 🏌️

Ford launched something that every fleet manager running more than a handful of trucks needs to know about.
It's called Ford Pro AI β€” and it's now included at no additional cost for Ford Pro Telematics subscribers.
Here's what it actually does.
You ask it a question. "What vehicles need service this month?" It gives you a prioritized list, tells you which ones to address first, and books the appointments. No spreadsheets. No manual tracking. No calling around.
It monitors fuel costs across your entire fleet in real time. If something spikes β€” idle time, hard acceleration, a driver habit that's burning through fuel β€” it flags it, identifies the cause, and drafts recommendations you can send directly to your drivers.
It tracks vehicle health, seatbelt usage, location data, and maintenance schedules across every truck in your fleet simultaneously. All of it pulling from embedded modems built directly into the vehicles β€” not a third-party add-on, not an afterthought.
For a contractor running 5, 10, or 20 trucks across multiple job sites, that used to mean hiring someone to manage it or letting things slip through the cracks. Now it's a conversation with a dashboard.
I've been placing Ford commercial vehicles for over 10 years. The gap between what fleet management used to require and what it requires now is significant β€” and Ford Pro AI is the clearest example of that shift I've seen.
If you're already running Ford vehicles and not using Ford Pro Telematics, you're leaving this tool on the table for free.
Worth a conversation. Reach out anytime.

Manage your fleet with Ford Pro and maximize productivity with vehicle health data, EV charging solutions, vehicle tracking & driver behavior insights.
