Hello Everyone,
Lucky number 7. This month marks BB Auto being in business for 7 years! We started our Business in the summer of 2019 and partnered up with Yellow Checker Cab as our first fleet to start the business. We survived Covid our first year in business, as well as the closing of Yellow Cab our second year in and expanded to the rest of the building.
5 years in, My best friend and I were on a walk in the neighborhood and as we walked past the old 'tire barn' building, we both spoke of how the building always got our attention, and how it would be neat to operate business out of the location. I swear to whoever that the very next week on our walk, the place was up for lease! So of course we had to check the place out.
On our first tour of the building, walking through the dimly lit shop with our cell phones as flashlights, a large plywood sheet of wood fell from the ceiling and knocked me out down to the floor, the corner of the board pierced a hole through my ear and almost sheard my ear right off! Munther thought I was dead because I was out cold on the floor. Very scary. I never filed any lawsuits or complained, but we agreed we still wanted to pursue the building.
Our original investors fell short on funds, and we fell short of our goal for the relocation. Luckily, for the first time ever in my life, I earned business credit and was able to fund the project on my own. The building needed a lot of work, but we made it happen. Installed new lift equipment, alignment equipment, electrical, plumbing, you name it.
My first year in at the new location, I fractured my left wrist. Crashed an electric scooter over the train tracks going 20 mph. I could not use my left hand for work for nearly the whole year! Just started a new location and I cant even work on cars! But I toughed it out and survived, and we have been at the new location for 2 years now!
This is just a taste of the trials and tribulations we have stumbled across in our 7 years of business. There are too many stories to share, of which all of these moments have been a unique experience and I can't wait to see what the next year brings.
Thank you all for your continued support. I plan to continue serving our community and will continue to keep fixing your vehicles!
. I'm also considering adding another member to the team. Potential Full Time Experienced Automotive Technician position will be available soon.
