Great tire info, I thought you might like to keep and / or share.

*Knowing the shelf life and maximum designed speed of your tires is crucial for a safe driving experience.

Did you know that the speed rating for each tire is indicated by a letter on the tire wall, ranging from L to H?

Additionally, the tire's shelf life is indicated by a four-digit number on the wall, with the first two digits indicating the week of manufacture and the last two indicating the year. It's important to note that a tire's validity is typically two to three years from the date of manufacture.

Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that your tires can withstand the pressure of high speeds to avoid accidents.

Many tire explosions occur due to increased speed, and this can be prevented by checking the letter indicated on your tires. Each wheel or tire has a certain speed rating, with the letter L meaning a maximum speed of 120 km/h and the letter H meaning above 210 km/h.

The letter L means a maximum speed of 120 km.
.. And the letter M means 130 km.
And the letter N means 140 km
And the letter P means 150 km.
And the letter Q means 160 km.
The letter R means 170 km.
And the letter H means above 210 km.

Stay safe on the road by being aware of your tire's maximum designed speed and shelf life.

Most vehicles have a recirculation button with the AC controls, however many drivers don’t know when to use it.

The recirculation button simply takes the air from inside the car and recirculates it in the cabin instead of pulling fresh air from outside. On days like today when it is miserably hot, if you do not recirculate the cooler air in the cabin, than your AC system is pulling hot air from outside and trying to cool it. Using the recirculation feature will get your car cooler and will decrease gas usage & the wear and tear on your AC system.
It will also keep fumes and exhaust from traffic outside, as exhaust can cause you to get sleepy or ill.

Tire replacement information.
Winter is approaching....

With the winter months coming, now is a good time to look at your tires because of snow and ice issues.
If you are buying used tires,
know how old the used tires are.

*How to you read the date code on tires:
Look on the sidewall of your tires where it displays all the tire information that you would need. Look for the DOT information imprinted on the tires. It will read DOT, then there will be a set of numbers and letters, then a space and 4 numbers after that. Of those four numbers, the first two numbers identify the week, and the last two numbers identify the year that the tire was manufactured. Thus, a TIN ending with "0224" indicates that the tire was made during the 2nd week of 2024 and would appear as DOT######X0219
on the sidewall of the tire.

Under normal conditions it is recommended to change your tires every six years, and some may extend to ten years under certain circumstances.
Check with the tire store or manufacturer for more details.
Tires with:
-sidewall damage
-belts broken or showing
-little or no tread depth
should be replaced asap.
