“I don’t know what ADAS is.”
We hear that…
Every single day.
But here’s the wild part.
You’re already using it.
Every time you drive.
ADAS means Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
Fancy name.
Simple mission.
Protect you from yourself.
Because here’s the truth nobody likes hearing.
Ninety nine percent of crashes…
Are driver mistakes.
Not bad cars.
Not bad roads.
Bad decisions.
Looking at your phone.
Braking too late.
Following too close.
Missing something in your blind spot.
So manufacturers asked one question.
“What if the car could see faster than you?”
Now it can.
Radar in the bumper.
Cameras in the windshield.
Sensors in the mirrors.
Computers watching everything.
Front.
Back.
Sides.
Even above and below.
Like military situational awareness.
Constantly scanning for threats.
Car slowing ahead.
Kid running into the street.
Traffic stopping suddenly.
Lane drifting.
Parking obstacles.
Your car is already thinking.
Already calculating.
Already preparing to brake.
Sometimes before your foot even moves.
That’s not magic.
That’s software.
That’s sensors.
That’s ADAS.
But here’s the part people miss.
If those sensors aren’t calibrated…
If a bumper gets bumped…
If a camera shifts one millimeter…
Now the system guesses.
And guessing at highway speed?
That’s dangerous.
So after alignments.
After collisions.
After windshield replacements.
These systems must be recalibrated.
Not ignored.
Not “good enough.”
Perfect.
Because safety tech only works…
When it’s accurate.
You want the car protecting you.
Not confused about where the road is.
If your vehicle has cameras, radar, or driver assist features…
Get them checked.
Get them calibrated.
Get them right.
Because the smartest car in the world…
Is only as good as its setup.

Subaru head gasket repairs are REAL.

And yes…

They’re STILL one of the most common engine failures we see.

Every single time somebody goes to the dealership they’ll say:

“Oh this generation was redesigned.”
“They fixed that problem.”
“This version is better.”

Okay.

Let’s talk about WHY these fail in the first place.

Most engines are built vertically.

Inline 4 cylinders.
V6 engines.
V8 engines.

The cylinders sit upright.

Oil drains downward.
Coolant flows normally.
The engine expands and contracts in predictable ways.

But Subaru built something different.

A horizontally opposed BOXER engine.

Porsche and Volkswagen did similar designs too.

Instead of the cylinders going up and down…

They lay sideways.

Which makes the engine compact, lowers the center of gravity, and improves handling.

Great idea in theory.

But gravity still exists.

And over time, moisture intrusion develops around the head gasket assembly.

Especially around the lower center head bolts.

That lower bolt constantly deals with heat cycles, coolant exposure, moisture contamination, and stress loading.

Eventually…

The clamping force weakens.

The threads lose integrity.

The gasket starts to fail.

Then come the symptoms:

Coolant loss
Oil leaks
Overheating
White smoke
Combustion contamination
Complete engine failure

And here’s the scary part…

Most owners don’t realize it’s happening until it’s already expensive.

That’s why proper repairs matter.

Not shortcuts.
Not miracle additives.
Not “just top it off.”

At Auto Tech, we upgrade these systems using improved gasket materials, updated hardware, and modern repair procedures designed to LAST.

Because the failure isn’t random.

It’s engineering.

And once you understand the engineering…

You understand how to solve it correctly the first time.

Subaru head gasket repairs are real.

And yes…
they’re still happening.

Every time you go to the dealership they’ll say:
“This version was engineered better.”

Let’s talk about why that’s only half true.

Most engines are built vertically.
Inline fours.
V6s.
V8s.

Oil stays where it’s supposed to.
Coolant stays where it belongs.

Subaru didn’t do that.

They built a horizontally opposed boxer engine.
Like Porsche and Volkswagen.

Cylinders punching sideways.
Heads mounted vertically.

Sounds cool.
Handles great.

But gravity never sleeps.

Moisture always settles at the bottom.
On a Subaru…
that means the lower head gasket area.

That center lower head bolt?
It’s always the problem child.

Over time:
moisture intrusion
loss of clamping force
gasket failure

It’s not a matter of if.
It’s when.

The good news?
You don’t have to wait for it to fail.

We can chemically test coolant and oil
before you ever see a leak.

Years ahead.
Not after the damage.

And when we fix it?
3 years.
100,000 miles.
Nationwide parts and labor warranty.

Subaru gives you 12 months.
12,000 miles.

They know it leaks.

We know how to fix it right.

If you want that Subaru to last
10
15
20 years

Take care of the head gaskets.

This might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen engineered into a vehicle.

And I’ve been doing this a LONG time.

Ford actually made a pretty reliable V8 engine.

Then Land Rover and Jaguar took it…
and somehow made it worse.

Here’s the problem.

Buried deep in the valley of the engine is this tiny oil cooler assembly with little O-rings that LOVE to fail.

When they leak?

They leak BOTH oil and coolant.

But here’s the insane part…

The leak happens where you CAN’T SEE IT.

So the owner has no idea it’s happening.

Then Land Rover added a giant skid plate underneath the engine that catches all the leaking fluid before it ever hits the ground.

We actually measured it.

This engine holds around 8 quarts of oil…

And it can lose SIX of them before you ever notice a drip.

Imagine losing 75% of your blood before realizing there’s a problem.

That’s basically what this engine does.

By the time most owners figure it out?

The damage is already done.

Overheated engines.
Destroyed bearings.
Failed timing components.
Catastrophic engine damage.

And yes… this same Ford-era engine architecture also ended up in Jaguars.

Luxury cars are amazing when they’re new.

But the more complicated the system…
the more opportunities there are for failure.

More hoses.
More seals.
More electronics.
More expensive surprises.

That’s why we always tell people:

Don’t just buy the badge.

Understand what’s UNDER the badge.

Because sometimes that “luxury” vehicle becomes a very expensive piece of driveway art.

This Jeep Grand Cherokee came in with no heat.

And when I say no heat…

I mean we had to pull the ENTIRE front interior apart to fix it.

Dashboard out.
Heater box out.
Deep into the firewall.

This is one of the most invasive repairs you can do on a vehicle.

Most people never realize what it actually takes to restore heat properly in modern cars.

To get to this heater core, we had to remove:

The dashboard
Interior trim
HVAC system
Heater box assembly
Electronics
Front interior components

Basically the whole front half of the vehicle.

But once we got inside…

We found exactly what we expected.

Corrosion.
Rust.
Contamination.

And honestly?

It was time.

Now here’s the part nobody talks about.

While we were inside, we looked at the air filtration system and saw years of buildup and contamination inside the HVAC system.

That means every single day…

The family driving this vehicle was breathing that air.

Not anymore.

Now this Jeep is going back on the road with proper heat, clean airflow, and a system ready for Colorado winter again.

People get told all the time:

“It’s too far gone.”
“It’s not worth fixing.”
“Get rid of the car.”

At Auto Tech, we rescue vehicles every single day.

And sometimes saving the car means saving the comfort and safety of the family driving it too.

Look around our shop right now.

There are 20 cars in here.

European cars.
Trucks.
Luxury SUVs.
Off-road builds.
Major engine repairs.

You know what you DON’T see?

Old Toyotas.

Seriously.

People ask us all the time:

“What’s the one car you never see anymore?”

Probably a 1992 Toyota Corolla.

And not because they’re gone.

Because they’re STILL DRIVING.

Toyota recently made a commercial joking with old Corolla owners saying:

“Toyota has determined it’s time for you to buy a new car. It’s been 25 years.”

That’s funny because it’s true.

The reality is Toyota built its reputation differently than almost every manufacturer on Earth.

While other companies chased trends, complexity, and short-term profits…

Toyota obsessed over precision engineering and long-term reliability.

These cars were built to survive.

And if you maintain them correctly?

They absolutely will.

At Auto Tech, I tell Toyota owners all the time:

“For the first 10 years, you’ll probably only see us for oil changes, tires, and maybe brake pads.”

That’s it.

Meanwhile, other manufacturers are telling people to go 20,000+ miles between oil changes.

That’s terrifying.

Oil is cheap.
Engines are not.

Take care of your Toyota and it may outlive you.

That’s not even a joke anymore.

The Lexus RX — basically the luxury version of a Toyota — was recently recognized as one of the most reliable vehicles for retirees because statistically…

It may literally last longer than they do.

So if you want a vehicle that’s going to be dependable for decades…

Buy smart.
Maintain it correctly.
And let us help you keep it alive for the next quarter century.

Ten years ago, balancing a tire meant putting weights on a wheel and hoping for the best.

Today?

Tire technology has become unbelievably advanced.

And no… the biggest changes didn’t come from the rubber itself.

Sure, modern tires have improved compounds, better synthetic materials, and stronger additives that help with durability and tread life.

But the REAL revolution?

How we maintain them.

At Saul’s Auto Tech, we use state-of-the-art dynamic wheel balancing equipment from CEMB Technologies — the same level of equipment used for Ferrari-level performance balancing.

And yes… it makes a massive difference.

Here’s why:

Most tire shops balance a wheel in a basic way.

But real dynamic balancing accounts for BOTH the inner and outer edges of the wheel and tire assembly while compensating for tiny variations in weight distribution.

That matters more than ever today.

Especially if you’re running:

Studded snow tires
Large off-road tires
Performance tires
Heavy truck tires
Luxury vehicle setups
Winter wheel packages

For example…

Many tire shops balance a tire BEFORE studs are installed into winter tires.

But once those studs are added?

The tire’s weight distribution changes.

That tiny imbalance becomes vibration.

Vibration becomes uneven wear.

Uneven wear becomes noise, poor handling, reduced tire life, and sometimes suspension damage.

That’s why precision matters.

A properly balanced tire:

Drives smoother
Lasts longer
Handles safer
Protects suspension components
Improves fuel economy
Reduces driver fatigue

And the best part?

You don’t need to own a Ferrari to get Ferrari-level balancing technology.

Whether you drive a daily commuter, a lifted truck, a luxury SUV, or a high-performance sports car…

Your tires deserve the same level of precision.

Because at the end of the day, the only thing connecting your car to the road…

Is four small contact patches.

We take that seriously.
