I walked over and this man's on the floor pumping away like he's trying to bring something back from the dead.

Naturally, I offered a few kisses. That's usually how I fix things.

Apparently he's priming a torque converter.

Whatever that means.

If that thing comes back to life, I want my name on the paperwork.

Anybody want to come teach Josh how to put a bandana on a dog?

This was supposed to be my Friday night outfit. It's Tuesday, and he JUST remembered it existed.

And look what he did to me.

Wonderful.

The man can replace engines, timing chains, turbos, and practically anything else on your vehicle.

But one little piece of fabric?

Completely defeated him.

Yeah, you. The one ignoring that noise coming from your car.

I've got some room on my schedule, and frankly, I need some new people to talk to.

Trevor's busy fixing vehicles, and Josh is behind that computer looking very important.

I don't know what he's doing back there, but every time I walk past, he's still sitting in the same spot.

Must be exhausting.

Anyway, bring that vehicle in and let the boys take care of it.

I'm going to be a little different tonight.

I didn't give Josh a hard time today. Not once.

And if you know me, that's unusual.

First, THANK YOU! We had one heck of a busy week at the shop, and we appreciate every single customer who keeps us going!

But there's something most people don't see.

Josh has rheumatoid arthritis, and lately his body has been giving him hell.

That man usually starts working around 3 A.M. He loves those quiet hours before we open. Just him, his music, and his work.

By midafternoon, he's already put in a full day.

And don't underestimate that human!

I'm a dog. Hearing things is MY specialty. But somehow Josh can hear a bolt break loose across the shop and know exactly what's happening.

Even when his joints won't cooperate, his mind is still sharp. He's diagnosing, guiding the crew, and making sure our quality stays high.

And speaking of the crew...

I have to give Trevor some credit.

That boy can run circles around Josh, somehow stay focused, and still turn out good work. He's exactly the kind of help this shop has needed for a long time.

Don't tell him I said that. His head's big enough.

But when Saturday comes, sometimes Josh has nothing left in the tank.

Today he took me to the shop, let me run around, and then tried working on the old house he's trying to sell.

I watched him try. Eventually, he just needed to rest.

So for once, I let him.

Now I need a few dependable humans to help him finish that house!

Floor sanding and other finishing work. Around $20 an hour. He's hoping to find three people who can show up, follow directions, and get things done.

And please, keep bringing your vehicles to us. We've got a great crew, Trevor's doing fantastic, and Josh is still keeping an eye on everything.

He just needs a little help outside the shop.

Apparently I'm the problem this morning.

Josh opened the door.

I heard the rain.

He said, "Go potty."

I said ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Well, I said it with my eyes.

Same thing.

Now he's standing there acting like we're negotiating a hostage situation.

Sir, I'm a dog.

Not a damn submarine.

Close the door, du***ss.

This mission is canceled.

Hey, humans.

Remember being a kid?

Running barefoot through the grass?

Riding bikes until the streetlights came on?

Falling down, scraping your knees, and getting right back up?

Now imagine waking up every morning wondering if your body will even let you play.

For some kids living with arthritis and other rheumatic diseases, that's their childhood.

And that breaks my little dog heart.

Our customer Melissa told us about the BONE DASH this Saturday, October 10th, in Solon.

It's helping raise money for the Arthritis Foundation and these little humans.

Josh knows what it's like when your body won't cooperate. He wishes he could participate, but this year we're helping by spreading the word.

So I'm asking you.

Run. Walk. Donate. Share.

Because some kids aren't dreaming about winning a race.

They're just dreaming about being able to run one.

Come on, Cedar Rapids. Let's give these kids some love.

These two spend entirely too much time working and not nearly enough time appreciating me.

He's been inside long enough.

So I'm putting him on the corner of 51st St and Center Point Rd NE and letting Cedar Rapids have a look.
