FYI: Racers, there will be NO PRACTICE this week for Dirt on The Downs as previously planned for Thursday 10/8.

NO PRACTICE-We were out in full force today with over six pieces of equipment working on the track. Problem is we had one flat tire on the grader and broke the front axle assembly on one of the two wheel packers. We want the best racing surface possible for Saturday night and feel we need to continue to work the track the rest of the week.

OCT 3 TRACK UPDATE. Yes, we had another inch of rain over the last 24 hours. Unlike other Iowa dirt tracks we can take the rain. As I've said before, Hawkeye Downs Speedway is very special. Grandstand parking is on pavement or rock, 75% of the pits are on pavement, most infield is paved, with lots of drainage tile. Look at this picture and see how well the track drains. With sun in the forecast Friday, we'll be able to get on the track and start packing. Saturday is sunny and mid 60's. We are getting calls from drivers from all over looking for a place to race. Great racing, Great food, Great fan base, Dirt on the Downs is the place to be this Saturday night! BUT, if you can't make it, check out the Miller 100 on IMCA TV or SPEEDSPORT TV.

DIRT ON THE DOWNS UPDATE: We were able to get all the dirt moved to the track and placed on Monday. That included backfilling the concrete wall. Track was graded and we started packing. We will spend all day packing and seal it with a final grade before the rain sets in around 7. Weather looks good for Saturday's big event MILLER 100 Based on rain forecast for Wednesday and Thursday it doesn't look like we'll be able to get any practice in. We'll keep you post if anything changes.

2026 Hawkeye Downs Racing Banquet
Friday, November 6th, 2026

This year's banquet will be hosted at the Knapp Creek Event Center in Walford. The Palmers have stepped up and helped us elevate the banquet venue to celebrate the end of our 2026 asphalt racing season. Thank you to Cody and Jeff for supporting our racers!

Doors will open at 5:30 for social hour. Dinner will be at 6:30, with the awards program to follow.

Drivers who raced three events or more will be admitted at no charge. General Admission tickets will be at $30 at the door.
