🚨 Not All “OEM” Parts Are Actually OEM 🚨
This photo shows three throttle bodies side-by-side:
🔹 Middle: The original throttle body removed from the vehicle after failure
🔹 Right: A part the client purchased online advertised as “New OEM”
🔹 Left: The actual new OEM replacement part
At first glance they may look similar, but the differences in materials, finish, and internal components are obvious in person. The throttle body on the right was marketed as OEM but turned out to be a counterfeit part. Not only was it not genuine, it also did not operate correctly and caused continued drivability issues.
This is a growing problem in the automotive industry. Many online marketplaces sell parts labeled as “OEM” or “OEM equivalent” that are not built to factory standards, leading to poor performance, repeat failures, and wasted money.
At Ramsey Repair, we verify parts quality and source true OEM or proven, high-quality alternatives so repairs are:
âś” Done once
âś” Done right
âś” Done the Ramsey way
If you ever have questions about a part you purchased or want to know what’s actually going on with your vehicle, we’re here to help.
