CONGRATS to our Wheeler of the Month Richard Martin. Richard is a local Bronco guy who we have been wheeling with a few times. He has had a Bronco Sport and now has built up quite the amazing BIG Bronco. Here is a little bit about Richard in his own words:
1. A Little About Me
I’m a Texas-based off-road enthusiast who enjoys exploring new trails, pushing my vehicle’s capabilities, and continually improving my build. My interest in 4x4s grew from wanting a vehicle that could do more than just get me from point A to point B. I wanted something that could take me beyond the pavement, create opportunities for new adventures, and connect me with people who share the same passion.
For me, owning a Bronco is about the entire experience—the build process, the time spent on the trails, the challenges along the way, and the friendships that come from being part of the off-road community.
2. My 4x4: 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands
My vehicle is a 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands 2-door powered by the 2.3L EcoBoost engine and paired with the 7-speed manual transmission with crawler gear. It features an Avery Dennison Rugged Marsh Green vinyl wrap and has been built with a combination of performance, trail capability, and adventure in mind.
Some of the highlights of my build include:

* ARB traction boards and recovery equipment
* TrailRax half rack with PacRac accessories
* Starlink Mini mounting system for connectivity on the trail
* OnX Offroad for trail navigation
* Injen Evolution cold air intake
* Panda Motorworks performance tuning and supporting modifications
* MRT axle-back exhaust
* Additional underbody protection for off-road use
The goal has been to create a capable, dependable adventure rig that reflects my personality while remaining ready to explore new places.
3. My Trips and Adventures
My favorite part of owning the Bronco is getting it out on the trail and putting the build to use. I enjoy exploring off-road terrain, learning what the vehicle can do, and seeing how different modifications perform in real-world conditions.
I’ve also had opportunities to share the Bronco with the wider Bronco community, including exposure through Bronco Driver Magazine’s Best in Show recognition at Super Cel West and participation in a Domo Dove Motorsports Club marketing campaign.
Those experiences have made me even more enthusiastic about documenting the build, sharing its progress, and connecting with other enthusiasts. I’m always looking forward to the next trail, the next modification, and the next opportunity to learn something new.
4. What I Love About My Bronco and the Off-Road Community
What I love most about my Bronco is its versatility. It’s a vehicle I can continually personalize, improve, and take on adventures that would be impossible in an ordinary daily driver. Every modification has a purpose, and every trip teaches me something new about the vehicle and my own abilities as a driver.
But the community is just as important as the vehicle. The off-road world brings together people from different backgrounds who are willing to share knowledge, lend a hand, offer advice, and celebrate each other’s builds. Whether someone is driving a completely stock Bronco or a fully modified rig, there’s room for everyone who shares a genuine passion for the outdoors and responsible off-roading.
My philosophy is simple: build it, wheel it, learn from it, and help others along the way. I want to represent the Bronco community in a positive way, respect the trails we’re fortunate enough to explore, and encourage others to get out there and experience the adventure for themselves.
At the end of the day, it’s about more than the vehicle. It’s about the people, the experiences, and the memories we make along the way.
