The Dream Stele, often referred to as the Sphinx Stele or the Great Sphinx Stele, is an invaluable artifact from ancient Egypt that is prominently located between the paws of the Great Sphinx of Giza. Erected by Pharaoh Thutmose IV during the 18th dynasty, this stone structure details a dream wherein the Sphinx itself communicated with the pharaoh, promising him the throne of Egypt contingent on the removal of the sand that obscured its body. This vision prompted Thutmose IV to undertake the restoration of the Sphinx, ultimately leading to his ascension as king.

To contextualize the antiquity of the Dream Stele, it is crucial to note that it dates back approximately 3,500 years. In this regard, one must consider the original construction of the Sphinx itself. While the precise date of the Sphinx's creation remains a topic of scholarly debate, it is generally agreed upon that this monumental structure was built during the early 26th century BCE, likely under the reign of Pharaoh Khafre. Therefore, if we roughly estimate the construction period of the Sphinx to be around 2500 BCE, we can deduce that the Sphinx is over 4,500 years old, underscoring its status as one of the most ancient and iconic monumental sculptures in human history.
