Well, according to that fuzzy little rat back in Pennsylvania, we have 6 more weeks of winter still coming. The forecast looks like a false spring for the next few days though, so here is some inspiration.

If you have a classic vehicle and need work done, you know it is a struggle to find a shop willing to work on it. It's like the latest diet where carbs are the enemy.

Here at R&R, we don't shy away from this work. Parts can be harder to come by and availability may be limited, but some of us are classic car owners and understand the love of the automotive history rolling down the road.

Our spots for this type of work are limited so give us a call and get it scheduled. Wouldn't you rather be driving the car when the real spring gets here?

Once again it is that time of year. Time for family and friends to get together and enjoy each others company.
This year, with Christmas Day, and New Years Day both falling on Thursdays, we are doing things a little differently. We will be open on 12/24 with reduced staff, but will be closed Christmas Day and 12/26 to give us a 4 day weekend to spend the time with our families.
For New Years, we will be closed on New Years Day, with reduced staff on 12/31 and 1/2.

We wish a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you and yours. Stay safe. And we look forward to helping you any way we can.

We got Santa's sleigh tuned up and ready to go. He said we were good this year and that we could have a few extra days off as our gift.

Well, we can't argue with Santa, so as always, we are closed on the weekends, but we will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day next week. We will also be closed New Years Eve and New Years Day the week after.

We hope that you got to give everything that you hope to, and spend time with those you love. From us to you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Chris, Denne, Tyler, Pat, Jordan, Miles, and Anthony.

***PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AT THE PUMP***
We have had several situations where gasoline vehicles are filling up with DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). The vehicle will not run on this fluid, and will have to be towed. The potential of engine damage is not likely, but still possible. Once at the shop, we drop the tank and evacuate all of the DEF fluid from the tank and lines, costing anywhere from $500 to $1,000. So next time you stop to fill up, please pay attention to what you’re putting into your vehicle.

YOUR CAR IS LYING TO YOU.

Here is why it is important to not only have your oil changed on a regular basis, but also to do more than just driving your vehicle. For example, checking your engine oil between oil changes.

We hear often when we recommend an oil change "early" that a lot of people go off of the "ENGINE OIL LIFE" reading on their dash. But what if we told you that your car lies? In this photo, this vehicle still says it has 30% engine oil life and has not recommended an oil change yet. This car is a 2008 GM product. It does not drip oil on the ground. There is no smoke from the tailpipe, and, with 30% still left on the engine oil life monitor, it should be good, on oil, right? Wrong. 4500 miles since the last oil change and 2 quarts of engine oil have had to be added.

Now, we know what you are thinking. Surely, something must be wrong with the car if it is using that much oil. But according to the manufacturer, this is totally normal.

"The accepted rate of oil consumption for engines used in the vehicles referenced is 0.946liter (1qt) in 3200km (2000mi)."

That is in the technical service bulletin from GM direct. And it's not just GM. Pretty much all vehicle manufacturers have an acceptable amount of oil consumption. This is why we recommend a consistent vehicle maintenance routine. Check your oil every week, 2 weeks, or month. Also before you are going on an extended trip. We would rather help you with maintaining your vehicle than having to tell you that your costly repairs could have been prevented.
