The Castle Rock Police Department is celebrating a decade of hands-on family fun as the community's favorite Touch-A-Truck event returns for its 10th year Saturday, Aug. 22.

Attendees can climb aboard and explore an impressive lineup of police vehicles, fire engines, military equipment, helicopters, heavy trucks and more at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 500 Fairgrounds Drive. A no-horn hour from 9 to 10 a.m. offers a quieter, sensory-friendly experience before the main event revs up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“For 10 years, we’ve welcomed thousands of families from across the Front Range to Castle Rock to get an up-close look at the vehicles and equipment that help keep our communities running,” said Castle Rock Police Special Operations Commander Todd Brown. “Touch-A-Truck gives kids a unique opportunity to climb aboard, explore and learn about these vehicles and the important roles they serve.”

This year's milestone event will also feature a special Bubble Discovery Zone from Colorado Foam and Bubble Parties, where kids can learn to create bubbles of all shapes and sizes. Additionally, attendees can jam out to live music from the United States Army Rock Band, and food vendors will be on site with items available for purchase.

“We’re incredibly grateful to all of our partners who continue to make this event possible year after year,” said Commander Brown. “Their time, participation and enthusiasm have helped turn Touch-A-Truck into a tradition that brings our community together while inspiring curiosity and learning.”
