The Ram 1500 is done! This came out incredible. I put a ton of time and effort into this. Lots of very fine details/fixes were done to this truck to really polish it out. long travel suspension and front/rear fenders. There’s more to come for this but it’ll be at a later date. For now, the customer is enjoying his new and improved truck.

Ram 1500 Build Update Part 4. The bed was finally test fitted and the suspension was cycled fully and no additional trimming was needed which was nice. The rear fiberglass has turned out to be quite a nightmare honestly. So much time has been spent trying to get it to fit symmetrically and properly.

Ram 1500 Build Update Part 3. The rear of the truck had quite a bit of surface rust and even some chipping paint. An entire day was spent with a needle scaler, wire wheel, and flap disc to clean and prep the frame, axle, and driveshaft. Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus was used to coat the entire rear end and frame to neutralize any remaining rust and prevent any more from starting. A lot of prep work has been done before any suspension work can start.

Ram 1500 Update Pt 1. All the old front suspension has been removed. Quarter panels are set and fitted nicely. The front valance seems to be way too wide causing the valance to sag across the middle of the truck. It has enough flex to be pulled up and secured so that’s next. Just have to find a clean way of doing it. I also took the time to sand and clean all the surface rust off the front of the truck and repaint everything. Some new parts are coming in Tuesday so that the suspension can be mocked up and cycled to check for tire clearance on the new fiberglass.

Ram 1500 is in for a complete overhaul. front and rear long travel, front and rear fenders, 37” tires. The parts for this build filled 4 pallets. The truck while it’s here is also going to get completely repainted with a fine finish of bed liner for stronger fiberglass and better longevity. There’s no major rust but the entire frame has surface rust which is going to be sanded, cleaned, and painted fresh before all the parts are installed. I’ll have my hands full on this for a good while.
